But after his fourth viewing, he told me that each time that he returned to the beginning of the movie his level of pain at the beginning of the movie was higher than it had been the previous time.

I was puzzled. After checking with my intuition, I brought our session to an end for the day. We have agreed to meet again this Thursday. I am going to try to find Gary's book at my local Barnes and Noble. Does any one have any suggestions. I would appreciate assistance.

Grace and Peace,

Glen Booth

Accidental pain - success story

I just wanted to share this story, since I'm very happy with the outcome.

I actually have 2 'accidental pain' (self-injury) successes. The first was a few months ago, I was stirring some spaghetti sauce in a pot and I must have been too vigorous with it or something, and some of the simmering hot sauce splashed on my inner wrist. I ran it under cold water, then put an ice pack on it for a few moments, but it still had some lingering redness and it was sore. My next step would previously have been to get some tea tree oil to put on it (it works great!), but of course it has a strong odor and that odor doesn't mix well with spaghetti sauce. So I remembered EFT (duh), and tapped on it. After a couple of rounds the pain went right away, and by the end of my meal the redness was gone, too! Yay!

The second story is from yesterday. I was opening my initial front door to my apartment (the screen or storm door...) and it opens toward me, and I was wearing sandals and opened it right onto my big toe on my left foot. OUCH! On a 0-10 scale the pain was a 10, for sure. But this time, I thought of using EFT before I tried anything else; so I sat down on my couch and put my foot up on the end table and started tapping. I did 1 complete round along with the 9 gamut and the pain dropped to about a 4. (if an intensity level is that high, I like using the 9 gamut also...) Then I did 1 more round on the 'remaining pain' and even apologized to my big toe for injuring it like that on 1 or 2 of the points. :-) Then, the pain was gone! I even walked a few blocks to the garage to pick up my car with no problem. A couple times it's had a small level 1 amount of discomfort, for a moment or 2, but it doesn't even last long enough for me to start tapping.

I thought it was pretty great. I've been using EFT for a few years for emotional things, (and I'm a practitioner) but only recently do I think of it for other things, too!

Back Surgery

In February of this year I suffered a car accident from which I sustained damage to 3 cervical disks (read neck portion of the column) that produced chronic pain in my right arm, loss of strength and loss of mobility. After extensive and very expensive tests I underwent a surgery in May 08 (about 3 months ago) to replace 2 disks and have a plate introduced to return the curvature to my neck.

I have had physical therapy and many expensive drugs with minor improvement to my pain. After hearing about EFT I ordered the Foundational Library DVDs so I could give this process a good try. Ive been trying it out but only achieve minor improvements to the pain in my shoulder and arm.

Any suggestions out there would be helpful since I understand that some are more difficult to eliminate than others.

thx,

I am currently on 2 pain meds, one considerably stronger than the other, but I still have frequent bouts of pain.

I know how important it is to get to root causes with EFT, and I want to work on the fibromyalgia, but since I really have no idea when it started, I'm at a loss as to how to do that. Since I don't know what time period to look at, I can't really search for memories that might be important.

I've definitely got the mechanics of EFT down, but the art of knowing when and where to look, and how best to approach problems clearly needs work. Any suggestions as to how to potentially pinpoint the causes of my fibromyalgia and deal with it would be greatly appreciated.

(I was perfectly fine, why wouldn't she be.) As rediculous as this thought was, this is what I was thinking at the time. Knowing that I was drunk, and trying to avoind going to jail, I had the astounding logic to run for my house, leaving my wife behind. I ran for the house, and got about ten feet from my front door when I was tackled to the ground, by some concerned citizens, and then placed in hadcuffs by an off duty security guard. I blacked out for a while and when I came to I was back at the accident scene. My wife had been taken to the hospital in an ambulance. I was arrested and taken to jail. Following the accident I was having some back pain, not severe, but enough to bother me. Knowing that going to the doctor, would just result in a prescription for pain meds, I made an appointment with Accupuntcture/Chiropractor. I had three visits with him, to he used accupuncture, and one a cupping technique. Needless to say this did litlle to improve the pain in my back. My brother told me about Neurolink, so I decided to give that a try, and their website directed me to a doctor in my area, Las Vegas Nevada. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Robirds, and had to wait two months to see him. When filling out the paperwork, and listing things that were ailing me, I cited depression, lack of self confidence, and numerous other things along those lines, in addition to the back pain. After my session with Dr. Robirds, my back was completely pain free. In addition, mentaly and emotionally I felt like I had never before, fantastic. Dr. Robirds informed that it wasn't Neurolink that he had used but EFT. He gave me the web address to the EFT website, but I never got around to checking it out. Meanwhile my wife was suffering from extreme pain in her back, legs, hands. I shceduled her an appointment with Dr. Robirds, but this again took two months to get in. The day of her appointment, I was out of town on business, and she missed her appointment. Fast forward a year or so, and my wife was still suffering from chronic pain. She had been diagnosed by three different doctors with Fybromyalgia, and prescribed hydrocodone, muscle relaxer, xanex, and anti depressant medication. Of course these drugs did little to help her. I finally got off my but and made another appointment with Dr. Robirds but made sure this time that she made it to her appoinment. Unfortunately, she was one of the 3% of the people who expeienced extreme emotional distress from the treatment. The emotion was such that both her and the doctor were engulfed in tears. He scheduled her a follow up appointment for one week later, but she was scared to go back, for fear she would experience more of the same emotional trauma. Dr. Robirds again gave me the address of the EFT website, but this time a got on and checked it out. This was back in March of this year. I started practicing EFT on myself to work on depression, and self confidence issues, and felt some progress, but didn't stick with it. A couple of weeks ago, as I approached my 33 birthday, I started experiencing depression and anxiety in a pretty sever way, and decided to go back to EFT. I have developed a routing that consists of a very early morning bike ride, ending at a very beautiful but unused park. There I started working on just some general depression, addiction, self motivation, etc...., and was feeling good. Then I decided to work on some general anger issues directed towards my mother, and felt an enormous relief. During this time I have been continued to study the free EFT manual, and decided to try and work on specific memories, that I believe were issues for me. This is where the trouble began. After working on some grief issues with the death of my father, I was struck by an intense anxiety attack. Although I normally feel a decent amount of anxiety this was very intense. I went back to tapping with the grief issue over my fathers death, and the anxiety subsided, but did not go away completely. In addition to this I had started compiling a list of all of the things that I could think of that carried an emotional burden. One of these was the guilt over having left my wife behind so that I could save my own butt, in the car accident. To my surprise the back pain that I had been rid over for over a year and half suddenly came right back. I did some more tapping for guilt, and some just for back pain, which did bring relief, but very temporary. In addition I can now see how my actions were the direct cause of my wifes pain. Although she has seen my success with EFT, she is still afraid of bringing back the intense emotional pain brought on during her first treatment. Any suggestions or comments on a possible direction from here would be greatly appreciated.

Pain associated with gout

Hi, I am new to this forum.

I have gout for at least 12 years and been suffering in pain.

How does one use EFT to eliminate the pain or even the disease gout?

Please shine some light for me

Intro: Living a Full Life with Chronic Pain.

Hello -

This is to introuce myself as one who is living a full Qaulity Life by Managing Chronic Pain.

Hi ... my name is Gary Rocha, a retired Canadian now living in Europe. EFT was referred to me by some friends on the Internet whom I have not personally met, but whom have been very supportive of me..

I trust that this is another direction I'm being guided to take, which has been the case ever since my 'process' started in earnest shortly after my release from hospital. Being as I am new here, I have not fully read the site, which I already see holds much information! However, just from a quick scan over the site and this (taken from above): It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips. I think the technique is not totally foreign to me, as I underwent a similar technique called Body Work with my own therapy! The difference however, is the pressure for application on the meridian lelease points.

The reading I think will prove very interesting!

It felt identical to when a you cut off the circulation to a portion of your body and it goes to sleep. I could pinch the tip of my finger and it was obvious that there was no blood flow to that portion of my finger. There were no signs of a bite or sting anywhere on my finger. Other than being numb, there was no pain associated with the condition. We returned home that Sunday and I went about my normal duties the following week, hoping that it would cure itself. The following week I made an appointment with my physician as the finger had started to hurt and was turning a little red. She immediately referred me to a vascular surgeon who conducted a test in the office which revealed that the blood flow to the tip of the finger was zero. He related that typically what happens is that a small piece of plaque in one of my arteries broke off and traveled down to the finger and formed a clot and shut off the blood supply. He scheduled me for an arterial gram the next week. That procedure revealed that all of my arteries were , slick as a whistle, as he put it and that obviously was not the cause of my problem. By now the pain had reached the point where I could not sleep at night because about fifteen minutes after laying down the whole hand would start burning to the point that it would wake me up. The only way I could get the pain to subside was to sit up in the bed. By now I was taking Hydrocodone for the pain which was still not allowing me to sleep at night. I finally discovered that I could put a sham pillow at my back up against the headboard with a standard pillow under my head and two pillows under each arm, I could rest sitting up and get a few hours of sleep. Yes I even tried going to the recliner but just leaning back a few degrees would cause the hand to burn.

At this point my normal physician decided to put me in the hospital for a few days to run a battery of blood tests and an internal and external ecocardiogram. There were at least five physicians in attendance. All test came back negative. So my condition has the medical profession stumped. I am currently seeing a hand specialist and he keeps saying that the finger is getting better(parts of it are turning black near the tip) and that he may have to remove the tip, but he does not know the cause of the problem. I'm scheduled for a EMG this afternoon but I doubt that it will reveal anything about my finger.

I have tapped on this problem for several weeks now without any success. I would appreciate any suggestions or help anyone can give. I have just about reached the end of my rope as the constant pain makes Frank all hair, eyes, and teeth.
