When I get the message, I will really get it & I will be able to let the pain go

this pain has the doctors & me puzzled...

(tap on your deepest fears) this pain has scared me to death--in fact, I have been afraid that I might die (include all of your deepest fears that you haven't voiced)--include cuss words if you are willing--you are trying to get to the bottom of this

Are there any burdens that you feel like you have been carrying on your shoulders? Include that in your tapping. When you tap, allow yourself to get real with yourself--tap on whatever comes up--especially what you haven't given voice to--your deepest secrets & fears. Is there something BIG in your life that you haven't addressed?

Hope this helps. Hopefully we will give you some ideas that can help.

I don't know what you have tapped on so far. Have you included any emotional issues, or have you just been tapping on the pain? Remember, EFT is the most powerful when you get to the underlying emotional issues.

The question you may want to ask yourself is, "who or what is a pain in the bum?"

Something else that may be of help is the right side of the body may correspond to energy going out, or masculine energy. So, this issue could have to do with men, a man or a father figure.

You might want to do a few rounds of tapping, and then ask the pain in your bum--"what is the message that it is trying to give you?" Be still, listen and see what you get.

You may want to look at what feelings are up for you that you haven't felt--it could be related. Then, you can tap while releasing those pent up feelings.

Please let us know if any of this helps.

In gratitude

JoAnn

our bodies are always talking to us. it keeps attempting to give us messages. if we don't understand it--it gets louder and louder.

according to louise hay, in you can heal your life, back pain represents support of life, and lower back pain refers to:

fear of money

lack of financial support

do either of those fit? if so, you could use something like these for set-up phrases. even though:

my lower back hurts, and maybe it has to do with lack of finacial support, i am not sure, and i deeply and completely love and accept myself

i have fear of not having enough money...

i have feelings of not having enough money...

what i notice about your set-up phrase is that you are dealing with emotions... you aren't going deep enough. how do you feel about the back pain? here are some ideas that may or may not be true (use them as triggers...) even though:

i am scared that my back may go out on me...

i am getting older and i fear that my back may get worse...

i have lost weight, and that has helped some, i feel helpless that my back pain is still here...

i don't think eft will work for me, maybe i am not doing it right or not smart emough or______...

another suggestion, get LOUDER. add CUSS WORDS. and one of my favorites is tap and *** (or rant). maybe your back is your barometer, and like you were saying, the pain could be serving a purpose. be aware of when your back hurts. could you be stuffing your feeling? if so, tap and *** and get it out.

hope something here helps. please let me know how it goes.

with love and compassion,

I am currently on 2 pain meds, one considerably stronger than the other, but I still have frequent bouts of pain.

I know how important it is to get to root causes with EFT, and I want to work on the fibromyalgia, but since I really have no idea when it started, I'm at a loss as to how to do that. Since I don't know what time period to look at, I can't really search for memories that might be important.

I've definitely got the mechanics of EFT down, but the art of knowing when and where to look, and how best to approach problems clearly needs work. Any suggestions as to how to potentially pinpoint the causes of my fibromyalgia and deal with it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for sharing. I appreciate your willingness to share your pain.

I too have some issues that are difficult for me to deal with myself and it is much easier to help others with than to deal with myself.

Here are a few ideas that are rumbling about within me that may or may not help. Did you have a religious belief when you were young that could be affecting you now? For example, I am unworthy or that I am supposed to suffer? Or a belief that has to do with aging and pain? Did you see someone you love age and be in great pain?

My guess is that you haven't gone deep enough—yet. Maybe the pain that you are feeling is trying to tell you that you haven't dealt with this particular emotion. What BIG issue are you trying to hide from yourself? Who or what is paining you? Deal with that issue and bring the intensity down, and you might be surprised to see the intensity of the physical pain going down, too. What if the physical pain is a barometer for your unresolved feelings?

Hope there is something here that may be helpful.

Gratefully yours,

This is to introuce myself as one who is living a full Qaulity Life by Managing Chronic Pain.

Hi ... my name is Gary Rocha, a retired Canadian now living in Europe. EFT was referred to me by some friends on the Internet whom I have not personally met, but whom have been very supportive of me..

I trust that this is another direction I'm being guided to take, which has been the case ever since my 'process' started in earnest shortly after my release from hospital. Being as I am new here, I have not fully read the site, which I already see holds much information! However, just from a quick scan over the site and this (taken from above): It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips. I think the technique is not totally foreign to me, as I underwent a similar technique called Body Work with my own therapy! The difference however, is the pressure for application on the meridian lelease points.

The reading I think will prove very interesting!

Re: Two ideas on pain

Hi Phil,

I agree that lots of times people don't listen to the signals of the body and that pain can be a messenger. If they get the emotional cry underneath the pain, and really get it--accept it--the pain goes away.

EFT really speeds up the process of feeling unfelt feelings. I think that many times people are terrified of feeling their feelings, and physical pain is preferred on a subconscious level. Then people create the habit of stuffing their feelings, and they aren't aware of their feelings.

Gratefully yours,

In my experience, pain comes up to call for help, something needs to be addressed. So it could be seen as a reflection of our resistance to listen to our body or acknowledge our feelings in the way they deserve.

Maybe we resist because we are scared to see the unresolved emotion.

The unresolved emotion (pain) can be anything from sadness, guilt, anger, resentment, etc...

So I would agree with both your points. Thank you.

Re: posterior disc protrusion

Hello LaureenAnn,

Welcome to our group. I think that you can get relief from the pain that you are experiencing in your neck and shoulder right now. You can tap along with the advice that people give you on this forum or you can contact one of the practitioners for help on the phone (I am available to work via phone).

LaureenAnn, do you remember

what was going on in your life when you first experienced the pain in your neck?

or who is a pain in your neck?

The answers to these questions can be helpful to getting to the root of what is underneath the pain (pain can be a barometer for unfelt feelings).

Something else that I often find helpful is after doing several rounds of tapping, to ask your shoulder:

is their a message that you are trying to tell me?

what is it?

LareenAnn, I hope that something that I have shared with you rings true for you. I have helped people get rid of chronic shoulder pain. Here is a link http://www.emofree.com/Pain-management/shoulder-pain-say.htm to an article that I wrote in which I helped someone with their shoulder pain.

Please keep me in the loop. Seeing you as whole and complete.

Gratefully yours,
