This is to introuce myself as one who is living a full Qaulity Life by Managing Chronic Pain.

Hi ... my name is Gary Rocha, a retired Canadian now living in Europe. EFT was referred to me by some friends on the Internet whom I have not personally met, but whom have been very supportive of me..

I trust that this is another direction I'm being guided to take, which has been the case ever since my 'process' started in earnest shortly after my release from hospital. Being as I am new here, I have not fully read the site, which I already see holds much information! However, just from a quick scan over the site and this (taken from above): It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips. I think the technique is not totally foreign to me, as I underwent a similar technique called Body Work with my own therapy! The difference however, is the pressure for application on the meridian lelease points.

The reading I think will prove very interesting!

two ideas on pain seem too have distillled themselves into my awareness:

1. Pain is resistance.

and

2. Pain is fear trying to leave the body

I'd love to hear others thoughts on these concepts....

I have tried with no success to get any releif. I also have something wrong with my neck and right sholder but have to wait till January for a 2nd MRI. The doctor said nothing can be done and I will have to live with it. I don't think so! :-) I do not want to live on pain killers so I live with the pain. I am 42 years old and have 2 small children so I have to figure something out.

Here is my condition shown from an MRI.

1. A right sided predominate posterior disc protrusion which causes neural foraminal stenosis in T1-2. 2. Mild prosterior disc bulge in T 6-7 3. L1-2 : Broadbased disc bulge and central disc protusion with the thecal sacmildly compressed anteriorly and measures approximately 12mm in AP diameter. 4. L 4-5: Broadbased disc bulge wich causes flattening of the thecal sac. The thecal sac measures approximately 8mm in AP diameter. The traversing nerve root looks impinged. 5. The L5-S1 level demonstrates a small annular tear as well as a broadbased disc bulge. The thecal sac is flattened and measures 9mm in AP diameter. The exiting nerve roots are contracted by disc material laterally.

I am glad to hear that you have had success using EFT on your mother's sciatic pain.

In terms of working with trigeminal neuralgia, I haven't had any personal experience. You were asking about where to tap besides the face. My husband hates tapping, and with him we touch and breathe. Does it hurt your mother to touch her face? If her face can't be touched, I would tap on both sides of the body at the same time if possible:

inner collar bone

under arm

liver point--on ribs below nipple

wrist points along inside of wrists

top of head (see how it is for her)

Also, I believe that it would be good to deal with the emotions that your mother probably has buried in her body. For one, the rage that she still has towards her husband who was aggresive towards her. I would encourage her to get it out:

to be loud (yell at your father)

to call him names (that maybe she didn't feel comfortable calling him when he was alive)

to use fowl language (even to use words like pisses me off--instead of makes me angry)

inhale and exhale deeply

Remember, you are helping your mother move energy that is stuck in her body. Also, if you can somehow get her laughing about the situation, it can really help move the energy.

I did a little research for you, and have included some links on the emofree website about people successfully treating Trigeminal Neuralgia. http://www.emofree.com/Pain-management/pain-trigeminal-neuralgia-hines.htm
http://www.emofree.com/articles/trigeminal-neuralgia.htm
http://www.emofree.com/pain-management/scaldpain.htm
http://www.emofree.com/Pain-management/pain-trigeminal-neuralgia-temple.htm (including some other accupressure points)

You might want to include:

I forgive myself

I was doing the best I could do even though it didn't seem quite good enough

I can face the now moment

I hope that you find some of this helpful.

Gratefully yours,
