sure not only you, but the many others who read this thread are
encouraged to continue working on their challenges.

Your statement " I was responsible for becoming depressed because I was always looking
at the bright side and I suppressed my negative feelings." caught my attention.

Caregivers frequently lack the strength, energy and time to allow themselves the liberty of fully experiencing and venting their own emotions. Perhaps the following set up statements would be helpful:

"Even though I have been suppressing all my negative feelings, I give myself permission to acknowledge my sadness now"

"Even though I have been too scared to accept the depth of my sadness and fears, I am safe and can cope now"

"Even though I have been pretending to be happy, it is safe to relax and permit myself real happiness."

The Choices Method may be most suitable for the above, that is 3 short-cut rounds for each set up, the first using a negative reminder phrase, the second the positive reminder phrase and the last using alternate negative and positive reminder phrases.

Baerbel Froehlin's article- "Love that about myself" in the latest newsletter is also likely to help.

I know it must look like a huge forest from your perspective, but please keep going "one tree at a time"!

Best Wishes,

Sangeeta

Re: The Caregiver's Manual

Thank Jasmine,

As I wrote before, I welcome any links to my e-books.

Warm Regards,

Sangeeta

Re: The Caregiver's Manual

Hello Soobie,

I do hope that my manual gives you some help.

In addition to Sylvia's very useful suggestions, here are a few more:

1. Even if the anxiety seems to go up, please keep tapping. A few more quick rounds usually start having a calming effect, even after an initial upswng in anxiety.

2. I would suggest tapping using "Even though I may have difficulty in believing that something as simple as EFT can actually make a significant improvement in my life, I choose to give EFT a fair chance anyway." After 20 years of your situation, whether consciously or unconsciously, it may be hard to believe that EFT can help in "this particular situation".

3. There are a lot of good suggestions on how to address issues without "going there" in this thread.

4. Though we are supposed to stay focused on EFT in these forums, TAT is demonstrated in the videos, so I hope it is ok to include a little bit on it. I would highly recommend a TAT using something along the lines of:

Step 1 : "Everthing that contributed to my ongoing overwhelmed and grieving state happened"

Step 2 : "All this happened, but it's over now. I am ok and can relax now"

In my experience, TAT and EFT are very complementary and work beautifully together. TAT takes away a lot of the "impact" and EFT clears away remaining, associated or new issues that emerge. This combination is particularly useful in cases involving a specific incident(the accident) and/or grief.

As Sylvia said, do give us feedback. I am sure you will receive a lot of support and suggestions from this caring forum.

Sincere Best Wishes!

Sangeeta

Re: The Caregiver's Manual

Sangeeta,

Thank you so much for sharing, For anyone who receives their Forum messages in their e-mail, here is the connection

http://www.soulspeakindia.com/index.php?pr=Downloads

Both, the Caregiver's Manual and the Patient's Manual are excellent, well thought out, and cover a wealth of detail. Please, everyone take the time to read and save them to your files.

As, I read the Caregiver Manual, there are so many instances EFT is applicable to the scenerio, maybe, if you added PR Statements, Sangeeta, Gary would post in his newsletter and archives.

I would like your permission to post to EFT-Cancer-Support-Study-Group@YahooGroups.com in my files and to forward the information to participants who submit a Cancer Survey. Thank you again for sharing this wealth of knowledge from your experience.

Blessings,

In the US, everything is done by staff, very similiar to UK, I am sure. The downside is you give up complete control, or almost. Twenty years ago, when my daughter was in the hospital, I snuck Vitamin C in and she took large doses, years later her doctor said to me, he was amazed she didn't have any kidney involvement, I never told him, but, I attribute the fact to the V-C.

With the wonders of EFT, there are so many places for application in this scenerio, to help this couple.

1. Her anger, frustration, guilt & exhaustion

2. All the stress for both

3. Fear of diagnosis of cancer

4. The diagnosis - if it turns out to be true

5. Pain

6. History and what led him to this point. There are common emotional commotional factors involved, (which you are familiar with- I am posting it for others who may not be) based on Dr. Hamer's work. My on-going research survey has proven that. Discovering & resolving the issues that contribute is very important.

7. Beyond those basic insights, there are other issues for specific cancers and locations, that are extremely helpful from "Messages from the Body."

8. Helplessness ~ Hopelessness for both.

9. Treatment and reaction to treatment.

10. And the list goes on..............

A couple of weeks ago, Gary posted a story on the research I did on an Imprint 24/7 T-Shirt which had the affirmation "I Deeply and Completely Love, Honor, Forgive & Accept Myself" imprinted on the inside over the Heart Chakra. Paula Shaw is the contributor. I was so impressed with the results, that, I made my own transfer labels to apply to my wardrobe, so, I had actual 24/7 coverage. Besides for the implication of the research, there is just a general feeling of well-being that you feel.

As you, talk about coincidences, the report was posted about the time of this new forum and my involvement as co-moderator, & my pondering when, I was in the Carer/Caregiving Responsible Person Position and I remembered an incidence with my elderly aunt who had dementia. She was in the hospital and calling for her dog, "Murphy, Murphy. Murphy!" continually, and driving the staff "nuts"!

Some very bright nurse (this was in 1990 or earlier) placed a sign on her lap, that said, "Murphy is not here!" She immediately stopped calling for "Murphy" much to everyone's relief. Looking back, with a new appreciation and Dr. Emoto's research background, on the power of water, she must have absorbed the information to her brain, through her body's water! It was a large sign, written on an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper. I honestly do not know if the size of her sign made a difference. It may have!

What, I do know from my testing, the affirmation "I deeply and completely Love, Honor, Accept & Forgive Myself" tested the best placed over my Heart Chakra and also, included "Love & Gratitude". I tested "Love & Gratitude" by itself and did not detect a recordable difference, which doesn't mean there isn't, just that both affirmations in combination, seem to have more power.

The purpose of this rambling is this technology is almost effortless in application and could be very helpful in reducing stress for both of your friends.

Blessings from Across the Sea,

Interesting timing !

We were out with friends last night ( they have a holiday home and come out every few months ) and they have been helping some friends who live here. The guy is in hospital and has had a lump removed from his throat which may be cancerous.

In hospitals in Spain, quite often the family, partner etc look after the patient, sleep in, feed them, change dressings.

It is very stressful for the ' carer ' in hospital who in England are used to the nurses doing everything.

This couple are in their seventies and not long ago, his wife fell and was hospitalised with a broken leg.

He visited her about 10 minutes a day and was known to say ' he couldn't do anything for her so it was pointless him being there.'

She is now tending him full time in hospital and he will not let her leave him, even for a coffee.

After forty years of marriage, she is starting to say ' I might do what he did..just stay 10 minutes and then go .. leave him to it..'

Have you heard that expression..' the worm is turning..'?!

Anyway, it seems to fit in exactly with your posting Deborah.

And another type of Carer/Caregiving situation which is slightly different perhaps to other countries?

I have started a new posting on this to ask what happens in other countries.

Warmest wishes,
