Thanks for that Harry - it can be very effective to tap lightly, and some find not tapping at all but instead touching and breathing is very beneficial. I often find that when I'm tapping really hard it's a sign that I'm really not accepting myself, so if I can consciously switch to tapping lightly, I introduce a little ...

I am just responding to this to remove it from the unanswered section on the forum.

Ann - I would have been considered to have massive issues with PR for many years when I was really sick. What I learnt through that experience is that PR or resistence is not really what we commonly see it as. So often we see it as something getting in the way of our healing. But what I learnt was that PR or resistence is simply ...

Kevin - Healing comes from acceptance of the deeper and hurting parts of us. No matter how many times you tap with "ET I smoke I deeply and profoundly accept myself" if your true feelings are that you hate yourself for smoking, the tapping will not work. EFT is not about continually pounding on a door demanding it to open.

Uhu - I salute your courage and approach to dealing with this. It takes guts to allow the inner child to talk. I know that it is difficult with her not trusting you at the moment, but my feeling is that you have done some amazing healing here and that there is a lot higher trust level with her than in the past, otherwise you simply ...

I do not understand the action of the tapping to be distracting the conscious mind at all. I understand the action of EFT to be helping us to get in touch with our true feelings and in doing so allow them to shift and flow instead of remaining stuck.
As Vern has pointed out above your logic is the opposite to most of our understandings ...

The key to getting in touch with our emotions is accepting them. If our subconscious gets a hint of us not accepting our feelings it shuts them down and we can't get close. While you are quite right saying feelings are not facts, it could help to reframe it a little with something like "ET feelings are not facts, how I feel in ...

Ann - you are very welcome. :0) And yes I think that you will find that clearing the "truth" statement will probably clear out a whole lot of things. If you find later that certain comments are still affecting you, simply do what you suggested in your post - write them all down and work through them. But you may not ...
Trying to think of how this would be worded to fit. Maybe ET I believe that my mother's words regarding my being ugly to be truth, I deeply......?
That sounds like a good way to phrase it if that is what feels like the truth. Tapping on it in your session tomorrow would probably be best as it ...

Ann - it feels so disheartening when we think we've finally broken through an issue only to find ourselves back where we were before. Unfortunately it can happen and it usually suggests that there are some aspects of the issue that are yet to be cleared. My suggestion would be to continue working with the practitioner and see ...
