Emotional Freedom Techniques
Emotional Freedom - Physical Freedom - Performance Freedom
It often works where nothing else will
EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

About Cynthia Proctor

Working with people who have developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries is my career and my passion. I also work with caregivers as they have unique issues that not everyone is aware of. I run a nonprofit agency focused on creating programs to help this population. I also hold a masters degree in counseling and practice both individual and group work with this population. My EFT practice and area of learning is focused on the problems I see within this population: trauma from abuse, self esteem issues, night terrors, flashbacks from PTSD, behavioral challenges, etc. For people I work with in traditional counseling who receive government funding, I have to fill out a computerized assessment that is supposed to determine their progress or lack thereof. I do it because I have to, but it is not an assessment that is reliable or valid for people with disabilities. Still, the reports often state that "this person has had an unusually quick response to therapy. Consider termination." Although I listen to my own intuition and that of the person I am working with rather than any report, I get a surge of pleasure every time I get that message. I know I would not have received it from providing traditional therapy alone.
