EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    Fear

Hello I'm new her  and i have a question.

I had a real bad childhood and sometimes i could not feel anything through all the bad memories i was carrying around. I'm doing eft now for a week  and suddenly all the feelings start melting away and their is this really nice person that come from underneath these feelings. it's like i'm not myself anymore and it freaks me really out .this morning I had almost an anxiety attack.

    Is this normal.

    Love Vera

You may be experiencing anxiety if all the feelings surrounding the memories are coming to the surface especially at once.

It is wonderful that you are discovering someone underneath it all that you like.

You don't have to take care of everything at once. If you feel as if you are getting overwhelmed, set some aside and deal with smaller bits that aren't so overwhelming. Tap for the anxiety if it starts to arise.

It is worth reminding people that for some things people need to seek professional help especially if they get into unchartered territory that is especially difficult. There are clinical therapist who practice EFT should this occur and you can find them here.

It takes courage to face some things from our past and I applaud your endeavor to overcome and grow beyond it.

    Re: Fear

Vera, you should do it as many times as you need it.  Sometimes on the deep issues, like when using ''the personal peace procedure", and when you just feel anxious or down.  Tap before yu go to bed, when you get up, when ever you have a few free minutes, like in the bathroom, or driving(if it's safe). As far as I'm concerned you can never tap too much.  We need to keep our channels clear if we want inner peace.  :)  Arum

Although it seems strange for many clients the old uncomfortable feelings are familiar, better the devil you know than the devil you don't!

So we may have to tap for "Even though I don't know who I am going to be without all of these feelings'.

Of course there is a nice person underneath all of this, you are perfectly amazing just as you are and the bad things that happened to you are not who you are!

If you need help keep asking.
