Hi all,

I've been talking with a number of other coaches recently (EFT and others) about what the difference between practitioners who have busy practices and those who don't.  Over and over, what I've heard is the theme of a marketing or, if you prefer, a client attraction plan.  Since getting more clients is a frequent theme on this forum, I'd like to ask three questions along these lines:

1) In one line, how would you describe the people you are trying to attract to your practice?

2) What are the 3-4 most important elements of your client attraction plan?

3) How well is your client attraction plan working for you?

Hi Paul,

In first reading your post this old but true story came to my mind and it may have a bit of lesson in it.  Ok that said, it was this actress that was being interviewed by talk show host that asked her on how she got started in show business,  She told of how she was from may be Kentucky and and told her dad that she decided to move to New York and work and try to get into show business.  The father feeling that her mind was made up told her ok, since you be moving to New York, you will need to know how to whistle to get a taxi late at night. So her father taught her how to whislte and she got very good at it and was all so proud of her whistle.

So one late rainy night she was out and she needed a taxi, and she whistled a few times and in seconds a taxi driver drove up, and she was so surprised, but too all so proud of her whistling.  So she told the taxi driver,. so you heard my whistle?  The driver look at her and said no lady, you got great legs.

I have made energy devices and did energy techniques to help others and explained how what I did may work, but some would say it was not the device nor technique, but more it was just me, getting the picture?

But now to this, the researcher Ruphert Sheldrake, he did some research that what it showed was that for some home/pet owners, the moment they at work decided it time go home, their pet would go and sit by the door till they get there. So what the owner was assuming was that when they get home and make some noise around the door, the dog would hear them and then run to the door to meet them, when in truth it was waiting by the door the moment the person decided to come home. Sheldrake set up hidden cameras in the home to verify when the dog went by the door.

So too there is the belief by some that due to the personal energy of some, that this some may be persons that be the life of party or socially they attract persons to them, that when these person say in EFT put out some flyers or something on the net, it is more their personal energy that lead to the attraction of say clients.  Versus say a client attraction plan.

I have read that one EFT lady as what she did was this,  she d EFT wise work on herself to make herself  best person that she could be to herself and the world and she too felt that a by product of this was that in her setting about doing her EFT practice, she energy wise was open to say the universe and this lead to her EFT business doing really well, and at the end of the day, this seem to work very well for her. So her market focus was more to her own being, not to say a client attraction plan. But this is just my putting a take on her, so just my opinion ok?

So the question can be what may or seem to be working that make some EFT practice work well for them?  Me, I personally think it is both things working, some times both be workin the same time, and some time it is more of one thing versus the other thing.  And those two things?  A, the being and social personality of EFT practitioner, B. say their client attraction plan.  And a one list throw in, that left and right brained person client wise, may let one thing that sway them to a certain client, and like like said, some client by just let things drawn to a certain EFT practitiner, and this just my one big flat worlded opinion and perspective.

Great story Harry! I agree wholeheartedly that we are a heck of a lot more connected than we think. The most useful business planning I ever did was getting clear about what do I really care about .... what do I want to be different in the world and how can I help. Getting clear about that and using my intuition as to what step to take next has opened up so many doors! I think we'll see more and more that successful business and life planning are mostly right-brained, intuitively guided. And well placed left brained questions can help us check our clarity ..... the secret is in asking the right types of questions .... but that's a whole other topic beyond the scope of this forum!

Okay now to answer Paul's questions .....

1) The clients I enjoy the most are self-motivated, powerful, passionate, intuitive, often misunderstood, leading edge folks who have a lot to offer to the world and want some support in fully undertanding and using their gifts and talents.

2) the most important parts to my business decision making are:

• getting clear about who I work with best,
• only doing what energizes me,
• being willing to say no and refer folks to other practitioners so I can best use my time,
• knowing I have nothing to prove and there's no rush.

 3) my business decision making is working extraordinarily well. I have exactly the number of clients I want, I charge the rates I want to charge, I am learning and growing and developing paid products and I'm doing it in a balanced and integrated way.

Thanks Paul! You are the one who taught me the power of a network - that having colleagues we trust and admire does our clients a favor .... so that we get to work with folks who inspire us and connect others with the right practitioner for them. I'd love to see you write more about developing a practitioner network ... you really do lead the way in that! And thanks for the referrals, I've sent a few your way as well ...

As someone who appreciates synchronicity, I think you'll appreciate the fact that I was setting up a time for free chat with someone you referred just about the time that your message was being posted to this forum.   Thanx for the referral AND the smile.

I do feel pretty passionate about having a network of colleagues to refer to instead of trying to be all things to all people.  Thanks for the suggestion about writing about this - good topic for a blog post.  I'll let you know ...

Yes, Des, the lady of the story was an actress that in about the '80, she and the actor James Gardner, Maverick western star, use to do I think Kodack cameras commerials together.

 But on side note here, I for some time wanted to do a post of Bert Hellinger, and his work and ideas of Family Constellations and when googling on EFT and family constellation, I got a hit on your Deborah introducing this work to you, Paul.  So I feel that you two do share my appreciation of this kind of energy and healing work. I learned of it just from the ideas Hellinger a few years ago and I do this kind of work based on his his work. However; now there seems net wise others that have their own models and ideas of this kind of work.

So all that said, what I think too that it may be that those that do network and net marketing of themself, that they that have a tool box of many things, some of great value, that they may project out themself in way that more of broad spectrum of persons may sense that this one EFTer may be better able to help them. This just came to me, but it seems to make some sense?

For over a month now, I been reading and working on myself per the work of V. Vernon, Woolf, Holodynamics.  He in ways was like Helliger, They both had life path that seemed to shaped them in coming up with  anew, well different energy healing modality.  Both too are intuitives that they are able to use their sensing ability to learn, gather say data and, it seems with Woolf, test out things in his mind. In ways his mind was lab. But any way I just wanted to share his work with the both of you and others that may not not came across it.

I read of his work per him on two terroist that he per chance to come upon, and how he worked on both of them in just changed them as persons, and what too was so interesting, was his insight on what he worked on both of them to change them.  I now am still looking for that one site.

While saying what I just said, I just realized that I do not think that I did a google search on EFT and Holodynamics, to see what EFTer may be using and mixing the two?

Woolf per him was sought after and he went over and behind the secens did work to end a recent middle east conflict. But the bottom line is this, it now seems that his work may be use to change the mind and hearts of a terrorist, but too, persons of politcal views, that in working on them, this may lead to the person being more their wholistic and true self.  Oh, too, being and intuitive and quautum physics too, he has a perspective take on energy, time and space that too connects to how this shape and effects the mind, his work and books to some, may be a bit of hard read, one may need to have some basics learning on matter of energy. He too mention on matters of the spirits of the dead, more he acknowledge their existance and how they may effect man and his thinking.

 There are some EFTers and I too may share some areas of things that on the fringe of what may deem to be of norm of things. Yes, I too was very was a bit taken to hear guy that in his world bridge quantum physics and things of  the dead, but to be honest on him, he only just mention some brief matter on the spirits of the dead, and may be he is sensitive to how his credibility will be taken if he were say more on this matter.  Spirit & Matter a book written by Dr. Jose Lacerda de Azevedo, At the bottom book it reads that he is brilliant Brazilian physician that intergrates modern western medine with ancient and modern spiritual practices. That sounds good but intruth much of work is about what may may think are aspects of voodoo, but he talk about it from a whole new light and too looking at many of his equation, the man knows quatum physics too.

For me, I was very selective in some of my beliefs and what I did to help others till in time I encounter more and more that what I was doing did not help, and this  complelled me to to learn news things about man and his realtiy and how I may best help him. I may have said this on this forum, the person that I am today, if could possible meet whom I was about 25 years ago, I would had to ask that person to sat down brace themself on the journey of how I got to be whom I am today.

Oh sorry Paul, for having to tangent off your subject in way that you may not wanted it to had gone, yes, sorry about that.  But I should at close add this, that for some that do EFT it best be careful as to divulge all that they are do per subject area, this may likely turn off some potential clients away in a heart beat in mid stroke.

It's obvious that you both feel very passionate about yout beliefs - please don't apologize for expressing them.  My intention is to help people find beliefs that lead to successful and joyous lives.  I don't need you to agree with me or each other.

Yes, Harry, I've been working on combining the two for several years now -- did you see the article I did published in Gary's newsletter on it? . http://www.emofree.com/Articles2/family-history-deb.htm And Paul has brilliantly incorporated matrix stuff into his work. There are so many existing modalities that can be augmented by EFT ... AND it's important to also keep reinforcing the basics of EFT as well.

Yes, integrating constellations work with EFT is awesome.  Just experienced a powerful session with Sejual Shah today where she helped me clear something that was in the way of growing my business to the next level.  I'm already seeing results.  It was reminder of how powerful this combination is.
