Hello G3DE,
Some people train themselves to wake up just after their dreams so that they can write their dreams down in detail as soon as they have happened, pen and paper by your bedside...
Through this method, it has been found that dreams were often a way for the unconscious mind to vent and process unfinished or unexpressed emotions from the previous day (Human Givens approach - Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell). There are other types of dreams which seem to bring a different dimension and symbolism and might be the amalgam of a longer time span.
Depending on the information you are getting, you can use that info to tap, as this may be a direct line to your subconscious.
The best time to program interaction or "I am alert to my dreams" mode seems to be last thing at night. You could tap the points as you tell yourself to remember your dreams, in detail, and also possibly on a specific subject.
One way to explore your inner world is via a mixture of light hypnosis and EFT. Betty Moore Hafter and Jade Barbee have presented their method here:

and you can find more information and examples on their websites.
Hiopoe this helps,
