There is no one process to get to core issues. In fact it's not about process, it's about building a relationship with the parts inside us so that they feel comfortable and safe enough to let us know what is going on. Many of us find that although we can resolve some issues on our own, many core issues lie so deep within us that we need some help accessing them. Most EFT practitioners work with another practitioner when they can't budge issues on their own, because it's not a matter of having the knowledge or the skill to get to core issues alone, there has to be an atmosphere of respect and compassion for the hurting parts inside, and because we are so close to our own issues, it can be hard for us to create this on our own. Just last night I had a session with an experienced practitioner and was amazed to discover a pattern I have had forever that is just so obvious to me now, that I've been oblivious to all my life, despite tapping all over the issue from every different angle I could think of. It could come up because the skilled practitioner I was working with was objective and able to help me to gently accept that inside which I have been rejecting or repressing without even being aware of it.
You sound really frustrated and I can relate to that, I've been there on many issues too. The best I can come up with is to suggest that you find a really good practitioner to work with and do several sessions (if we keep chopping and changing to work with different practitioners we run the risk of never developing deep enough rapport with a practitioner for the internal parts to feel safe enough to really go there.) If you would like a recommendation for a good practitioner, feel free to drop me an email via the forum functionality.
Hang in there and very best wishes,
Jo
