EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    Business Card

What do you put on your business card to explain what you do for a living.  A chiropractor or hypnotherapist is self expainatory.  How do you explain you're an EFT practioner when no one has any idea what you are talking about?

    Re: Business Card

I was at a very conservative networking do a few years back to promote my EFT practice.  When people asked what I did for a living, I started with "EFT Practitioner".  Some had been shown EFT badly, it didn't work, and just said "Oh, that's interesting" and wanted to know no more.  Most had not a clue what EFT is and just could not grasp that thoughts involve chemical signals or electrical impulses (these people were marketers, journalists, secretaries, accountants, and bankers, not scientists or biologists).  So my explanation of electrical activity in the body fell on deaf ears.  I tried "special stress buttons" and suchlike, equally to no avail.  Then I gave up for a while and introduced myself as a hypnotherapist but in return got all the boring (to me) questions people ask about hypnotherapy.

Finally, I got a flash of insight.  I said "I'm an Emotional Freedom Technician".  Suddenly, since I became a "Technician", my explanations about the body's electromagnetism and subtle energy were totally accepted, people were fascinated, and I picked up two clients from that do as a result!

    I hope this helps.

I don't think a chiropractor or hypnotherapist are self explanatory.  Some people might hear hypnotist and think "Do they do one of the those shows were people cluck like chickens?"  Or most people don't know that there are chiropractors that work with allergies and will think, "If I am ever in a car accident I will know who to call" if they see chiropractor

You business card shouldn't be about what you do.  It should be about what you can do for the person reading it.

     You title could be:

    *weight release specialist

    *pain management specialist

    * Helping people start business with out needing to get an MBA

It is a classic marketing mistake to talk about our skill.  Our skills are very important to being able to do the job we do, but...

People don't care how we help them.  They only care that we can help them.  Explain how their life can improve by working with you.  Then if they are interested they might (and I stress might) ask you how you are going to do that work.

There are client who I could if I wanted to ask them to stand on one foot and hum "God Save the Queen" and they wouldn't question it.  (Not that I would do that)  Once they believe that I can help them with moving to the place they want to be and they trust me, they don't care what we do.

I have a two-sided card that explains EFT on the back. The type is small but it also has the tapping sequence on it and the affirmation.

You could also consider a fold over business card with an explanation inside.

    Hi all,

I'm with Gene.  I am an Abundance Coach and the Author of Money Makeover 2.0: 5 Steps to Financial Well-being in Today's Economy.  That's how I lead in my marketing.  In fact, I've gotten numerous clients when people ask what I do just from the title of my ebook.  Only after people ask how do I this do I talk about EFT as tool to decrease stress, increase ability to perform at peak levels, increase genuine connections with clients and thereby increase one's value in today's economy.

    Thanks for the conversation.

    With much love,

A business card like anything else you put out there needs to be more than informational it needs to draw attention and make people want to call you!

Pick an area you are particularly good at with EFT an Idea would be something like

    Need Immediate Stress Relief?

    • Can't sleep
    • Trouble Concentrating
    • Tried Everything Else

*No drugs *Do it yourself * Approved by over Find the number stress sufferers

Call me and get back to being happy

     Hi Tom

I think everyone has given alot of great information, personally myself I don't have anything on my business card that mentions EFT it does however say 'Personal Development Specialist' and because most people don't know what that means it always gets the response of ... what does a Personal Development Specialist do?  Which gives you the opportunity to talk about EFT.

For me that is the only purpose of my business card - to get a response so I can share more.

Well that's my 5 cents worth - cheers

    Re: Business Card

     Hi, Tom,

There are lots of good ideas that have been offered - Gene M.'s comment about focusing on issues, or the benefits of what you do is key.  People don't care what modality you use, only what you can do for them.  My business card says 'Business Success Coach', I don't mention EFT, although that's my modality.

One way to 'dress up' your business card is to use the back of it to offer something that they want - a 'freebie'.  For example, 'For a free report on the top 10 causes of stress and what to do about them, go to www.endstress.com' or you can offer a free 'Discovery Session' to get them to call you.  The free report, which they would download from your website in return for giving you their email address, is 'safer' for them. Once you have their email address, you can send them lots of information about what you do, in addition to what you do in the free report.

    I hope this helps!
