On top of all those great replies you had, I must add, that with such a request I would consider issues of control.

Not necessarily sure, but an option that it indicates that.

Writing headlines, about the way the process evolves, is not complicated, and to ask for these-seems as a legitimate request to me.

Hi Suzanne,

there is no "medical evidence" that I know of that proofs the requested statement. However, as Marianna and Marie already stated, there is a lot of research going on right now. You can find it in the resources-research section of Gary's website. I also have a button on my website where everything that I believe to exist right now, is listed.

However, I wouldn't go there. EFT is still in the experimental stage and does not claim to have medical evidence right now. It is a coaching and self help tool and no replacement for medical treatment. If a client with the Doctor decide that healing has taken place, then that is great. The evidence that they are talking about, however, seems to be a published study for that particular case, which, I don't htink, exists as of right now. It is important that we separate ourselves clearly from the medical field, so we are not considered to provide a kind of service that we are not.

When I have that request, I send some short notes, and tapping suggestions by email. Clients are able to tape sessions or ask for a copy of mine. I also use 3x5 cards and write key words down for them to use at home. This has worked well. Since they receive an audio tapping CD I have made for clients, they usually don't ask for notes. When they use the CD they focus on the brief notes on the 3x5 card. This also helps them get over the "hump" of not doing it "right".

My questions at the end of a session are: Do you feel comfortable with the process now? Is there anything that feels unfinished? What did you learn from todays session?

I love the idea of video email,....hm....put that new camera to work.

Well I just put your question into Garys search engine and quite a lot came up but as to ' medical eveidence' ?

A suggestion, would it be worth contacting the MDs on EFT Advisory Board to see if they had anything to offer ?

I suppose it will depend on country etc.

Master Dr Incki was at Masterclass but she is in Turkey.

Some of the Masters may have something.

Do you think it would be appropriate to post a message on Physical Illness Forum ?

And I wonder if anyone can point me to any research. I have been asked by one client's lawyer to provide "medical evidence" that EFT is successful in treating "muscular conditions". Help!

How interesting that you have been asked for session notes in legal cases.

I love your idea of asking the client to write down two good outcomes from a session.

I am going to introduce this ..as of now !

I do write/take notes and write notes out at the end of the session but your suggestion is ' client led' even at the end.

This is always something I aim to work for but really hadn' t thought about the session ending.

I am currently in the UK. In the UK, the law clearly states that the client has the right to see their notes at any time.

In addition, I have so far had three requests from lawyers for my clients' notes. This is because the reason they saw me was connected with an injury or a wrong-doing which they sued for, and my notes were needed for the legal case.

With EFT, I write a brief phrase about what we tapped on, then some numbers for SUDS. If asked for my notes later, I photocopy them and then type an additional explanation of the notes.

Also, for some clients with a great deal of anxiety, I ask them at the end of the session to write down two good outcomes of the session. This is to remind them that we did get some progress, for extra peace of mind.

The first time you are asked for notes, it can be a bit of a shock. You'll soon get used to it and take it in your stride.

I forget to mention I also use a video email and record a few minutes of the clients session ..or I send a review of the session in the video link or some tapping suggestions

I've had several clients who wanted my notes, and I gladly give them. In one situation, I was doing the session at a woman's home and she was able to copy the notes with a home copier. Another time, I got the notes copied in town and delivered it to her or sent it. In in another instance, the client borrowed my notes to rewrite herself. I love to give 4 x 6 cards to my clients with key phrases on it or affirmations (this idea was from Patricia Carrington) One of my clients also recorded our session and reported loving reviewing it. I'd like to move in this direction like Ingrid.

Hi EFTParis,

I have actually, finally, convinced myself to record the sessions. I really like this now! Taking notes cvan never completely reflect what is going on in an intuitive EFT session, an, since your client knows the issues he came with, he might be disappointed with your notes.

I found out that my cheap little MP3 player does a wonderful job recording digitally, and there are several ways to get the recording to a client. I completely agree with Deborah that this must be agreed on before you work with someone, as it does require extra time on your hands. You also have to be comfortable with other people listening to how you work, as your client might want to share the recording with others.

I'm a little bit embarassed because I imagine the amount of work if all of them have the same request...
I thought I could send him those notes, mentioning I do this exceptionally but if he wants he can record our sessions in the future.

What would you do in this case ?

I don't offer to send notes to my clients but my practitioner does. But it's an agreement made up front.

If you client wants notes (and there are many reasons why they might -- do you know why?) , perhaps you could end the next session 5 minutes early and use that time to email him/her the key points -- but that assumes you take notes!

If you don't take notes, then that is a whole other negotiation ...

I imagine it doesn't have to be a lot -- if you find out what he wants, you'll know what to send.

Hi there,

In five years I have never been asked this and agree with Fabienne, I would send a brief outline/resumee of the session.

I have had a client who recorded our sessions to help him when he returned home.

Perhaps some 'key' phrases you used may be included.

I often offer ' follow up' homework or set up phrases at the end of a session..just a suggestion to include.
