Congratulations! The first time you used EFT with snowboarding you saw the biggest improvement that you have had snowboarding--that says that it works to me. You even did it mentally because you didn't want to look like a freak.

Chris, I don't know if you are interested in any coaching, but after you feel like you got the negatives out of the way (this lack of confidence, I can't relax) you can affirm what you want. I wait until the SUD level is down to 3/10 and you have your negative programming handled. You could affirm:

I am in balance and lean the way I need to lean easily and with grace

I feel confident on the slopes

I feel relaxed and if I start to feel anxious I remember to inhale and return to my relaxed center

I am an awesome snowboarder

Let me know if this helps.

Gratefully yours,

JoAnn

Thanks for sharing your success.

The issue of course is that this feels illogical and not a natural angle to stand at (if you stand on a hill normally you'll lean uphill to keep upright). It's frustrating that sometimes I can get the hang of it and other times it all goes wrong.

Last season I went skiing and was amazed at how quickly one of the complete beginners picked things up. The difference between him and those that didn't progress seemed to be largely confidence.

So anyway.... back to last night. I decided that I would try using EFT to help my technique progress. I intended to tap before going but other than a couple of sneaky rounds tucked in whilst waiting for my mate to get in the car I kept getting interupted and didn't find time. Determined not to be beaten I decided to try it whilst there, afterall the lift back to the top can be quite dull and a fair percentage of the time is spent riding back to the top. A combination of thick wet gloves and not wanting to look like some kind of freak I decided to try visuallising the tapping. It took a fair bit of concentration to "feel" the tapping, but I had lots of rides up in which to practise.

Well the news is that my snowboarding improved considerably last night. I'm sure that skeptics would argue that practise makes perfect and that the EFT didn't have any effect, but I think it's quite interesteresting that the first time I try EFT with snowboarding I see the biggest improvement.

Whether it helped or not, who knows, but I had a great time anyway, as Gary says "Try it on everything".

Even though I lean uphill, I deeply and completely...... leaning uphill

Even though I lack confidence, I deeply and completely...... this lack of confidence

Even though I need to relax, I deeply and completely..... I can't relax

And lots of similar phrases that I made up as I went along.
