EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    I need help with tapping

    Hi,

I am new to EFT . I have read the various testimonials of the effectiveness of EFT. I have tried to use it on my own personal issue but I do not seem to  get a desired result. I trade the financial markets but after some losses that i incurred, I have found out that I am just unable to trade effectively anymore. I seem to have developed 'a way to avoid trading the markets'. eg whenever a trading opportunity presents itself i find myself doing something to take my attention away from the opportunity. And when I am able to force myself to be present for a trading opportunity, I get this intense fear of making a mistake. I consciously know that losing is part of trading the markets and I do have measures to minimize my losses, yet I still have this irrational fear. I used to be frozen at the thought of pressing the buy or sell button,I do not have that anymore but now it appears that  my unconscious mind is now using 'avoidance tactics' to keep my out of trading. I have tried to tap on this but I seem to be numb when trying to gauge my emotional charge.

I will appreciate any suggestions on how to use EFT overcome this obstacle.

I am convinced that EFT can be used to get rid of this, I just don't know how to go about it.

    Thanks

    Sorry about my long-winding email

    George

    Hi George,

What I suggest is that you get specific with events.  You mentioned a couple here, one of which I'll use.

Find one specific time when you were frozen at the thought of pressing the buy or sell button.  It doesn't matter which time you choose or that you are not reacting that way anymore.  Let's say it was last month on the 30th in the morning.  Ask yourself if you were to relive that event, on a scale from 10-0, what number negative emotion would you have? Write this down.  Then tap "Even though I have this last month on the 30th in the morning feeling, I deeply..." Keep tapping till it reaches zero.  Then, find another specific time, etc.

    I hope this helps.

Re: I need help with tapping

    Hi George,

I think it would be helpful for you to go back in time to when you were much younger--either a teenager or a boy. Calm your mind and ask yourself to come up with a memory of yourself when you had the same intense fear of making a mistake. I believe that this same fear is locked in your cellular memory--it could have been in school or at home. Then use EFT to clear the feelings around that memory so it no longer affects you. There may be more than event in your past to clear.

What are the secondary benefits of not doing well with the trading? Notice the voices in your head when you use your avoidance tactics. What are they saying? (I will lose all my money. I don't deserve to be rich, if I make make a lot of money in the market then__________, etc., )--I am just making stuff up, but if you listen to what your inner critic is saying, you will come up with some good stuff to tap on. George, it is important to get to the root cause of the fear. When you find what it is, then you can release it with EFT.

Also, we are talking about releasing something that has been in your body for a while. To move the energy it can help to INHALE and EXHALE loudly when you tap, and to RAISE your voice. These simple tactics can assist you in moving the energy out of your system and freeing you up.

Also, an EFT practitioner can assist you in clearing your blocks faster than you doing it by yourself.

Please let me know if any of these ideas help.

    Gratefully yours,

    JoAnn

    Hi George,

I would also add, even though I do not get the desired results from EFT on my own personal issues.

Even though I have had some losses and don't want to incur any more,

Even though I cannot trade effectivley.

    Regards.

Have you addressed forgiveness? I forgive myself for my past misjudgement. I now find it difficult to trust my judgement at all. I am afraid to risk making a choice at this time. although I have been successful in the past. I know others, even those more successful than me, have also made mistakes, and still went on to make successful choices. Even if the market is crazy at this time, I know how to make choices that generate income. What would Buffet do?
