Emotional Freedom Techniques
Emotional Freedom - Physical Freedom - Performance Freedom
It often works where nothing else will

EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    TMJ?..bruxism?...

    Dear EFTers of this forum,

I have been learning and using EFT for all my problems since last year and making appointments with a practitioner since then too and the below have just cropped up.

I have not gone to get a confirmation of my jaw problem(I suspect it's either bruxism or TMJ) as I may not want to see my dentist until I try EFT on it.  She had told me b4 that my headaches on the left side of my headache condition is partly due misaligned lower jaw and it doesn't help that I am a stress biter. My misaligned lower jaw is inherited from my dad - this sucks eggs!! since I have this disgust of my dad. (I haven't tapped on this bit yet as it's a long list of things)

I was using the mouth grip? since 2007 and the best part was around last year, the insides of the grip cracked and came apart!...Was horrified yet in awe that I did that. Lol...So, only the shell's left now! and because it costs me alot to get it again...I'm still using it regardless and could see that my bites have caused indents to it. I've been getting headaches, aches and pains on the left side of my head down to my shoulders-wtf!..lol

Anyhow, I noticed that there has not been any successful case mentioned in this forum but I'm hoping there will be!...

It's been tiring tapping away actually..Lol...Below was what I had done with some relief though.

Anyway, I did tapping occasionally for:

Lower jaw rolling up and off the right side of my face

    Jaw misalignment (felt nothing)

Stress, upset & angry that I have this jaw misalighnment like my dad's in my jaw(felt a bit calm)

    Teeth grinding(slight improvement only)

    Tighten jaw(slight improvement only)

Tightness on the left side of my head to my shoulder (very subtle cooling sensation)

I will be tapping on my career-no direction/no prospect/no progress emotions tied to them to see if it's related to my teeth grinding and see what happens...Perhaps I could tap on my emotions towards my dad and see if there's improvement to my left side pains.

Would be grateful for some suggestion/advice/ideas on what else I could be missing. Hope to hear from anyone here.

    Blessings to you!

    Kim

    Hi Kim,

If there was one incident or event stuck in your jaw, what would it be?

Maybe you can tap on that and see what happens.

There are usually many events.  Just keep tapping each of them away - do one a day, and see how you feel.

    Re: TMJ?..bruxism?...

there are some specific acupressure points that can help give relief to this condition. I saw in a book called "accupressure" I think, from Michael Reed Gach a set of points he'd developed for this condition. I don't have the book any longer.

I sometimes wonder if perhaps if we misunderstand and then reject our parents, and then we ourselves need to use some of the techniques they used, either because we don't know better techniques, or because they really aren't all that bad, it's just unpleasant to be on the receiving end of them (eg the person on the receiving end believes the parent to be the horrid one, but really, they're doing a good thing within a bad situation or environment) so then we can have this huge conflict of needing to copy parents - but we can't, because we rejected them and their "horrible" ways. So sympathy alone for the pain past and present isn't enough. We also need to be able to make peace with their memory and have freedom to make choices in the present.

    i'd also try

ET i have tension in my lower jaw, and it may have come from misalignment, bad teethe condition, my father's ancestory or family patterns, a filling or crown that was too high, a caved in upper jaw, or a million and one other causes, ILAAM, and i encourage my mouth to come towards healthy alignment.

BTW you don't need to do whatever it is the dentist says, but getting his input on to what is wrong and what potention solutions (in teh practical realm) might be, can only help you in terms of tapping ideas. I think so at least. I like my clients to not be scared of the medical community - and then to make their own decision. Make peace with whatever practical solutions may be available. Just this making peace often helps the problem to resolve - conversely, being afraid can sometimes block progress. Ditto with being afraid to address parental issues - but if you are worried that it's too much for you, then please do it with proper practitioner support - these forums may not be enough for you..
