EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    Involuntary swearing/twitching.

I get involuntary movements and sometimes involuntary swearing.  This started happening back when I was meditating, and then when I moved on to doing lots of EFT, and now it happens like clockwork every time I go inside myself to release something with Sedona Method.

Every time I go inside myself to release something my head jolts to the right, and I don't feel it has been released at all.  I don't think EFT is the answer as a practitioner and I tried tapping on it (I even had him tapping me as the twitches/jolts were happening and nothing) but I'm posting it here in case somebody has another solution to it, somebody suggested its a block in my energy system and to try Reiki but I don't know much about that.

    Can anybody help?

    Re: Involuntary swearing/twitching.

What did you tap on with the practitioner?  Did you tap on the very first time this happened for you and what was happening in your life at that time?  Our brain makes the most bizarre associations, and it is quite possible that there was something going on for you emotionally that has got associated with releasing something and causes this.

Another possibility is that there is a part of you that is afraid of you releasing anything and is distracting you from doing so.  Did the practitioner explore any possible reasons parts inside of you might have for holding onto the things you are trying to release?  This could be an important area of investigation.  If you do go down these lines, it's really important to remember that all parts have our best interests at heart, they only ever do something in order to try to protect us or help us to feel OK.  They are generally just running on limited information and have come up with strategies that initially worked, but are no longer helpful.  If we can hear their stories and get in touch with their pain and what they are trying to achieve, things usually shift.

Let us know if you want us to expand on any of this, and perhaps if you can fill us in on more of what you have tapped on, we might be able to see some other angles.  It doesn't really matter whether you are using Sedona, Reiki, EFT or some other method - the key is getting in touch with the core issue.

    Best wishes,

    Jo
