EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    Blood clots

    Hi Everyone,

A 17.5 yrs. old teenager came to see me as a psychologist, he knows nothing of EFT. We had an introductory session and he told me that he was discovered with a tendency for blood clots (thrombophilia). He already had a clot in his leg and has to take a drug called COMADINE for the rest of his life, to thin his blood and prevent clots. Apparently it's genetic and his condition is rare in his age and very dangerous.

He said he only came to see me to please his father. He's OK and usually leads a normal life. He's very ahtletic and does lots of sports, there was a time when he did less because of the clot, but now he does everything as usual. He can't join the army because of the clots, and he really wanted to, so that's a disappointment, but he might volunteer.

I thought to try and work with him on his physical condition, because that might be a doorway to treatment. His father thinks he has pent-up anger and the home situation is not good - parents fight constantly and the father wants to divorce but will stay till his son finishes high school.

My question is this: Does anyone have experience with this sort of physical issue? If yes, is there a common emotional theme behind this situation? and also, what are my chances of introducing EFT to this unmotivated teenager?

    Thanks,

    Iris

    Re: Blood clots

    Hi Iris,

I've experience in dealing with this and a common theme seems to be a lack of support, stability and feeling alone. No roots so to speak. I'd explore his home life which does not seem very stable - that's an understatement - does he know the father is only staying until he finishes school? Rather than asking him outright as he may feel he's being disloyal or he may rush to his father's defense- ask him how long his parents have been fighting. Does he remember the first time? How secure does he feel etc etc.

    Hope this helps
