Newbie here! I have just been learning about EFT since July and I have been having spotty successes with my own issues but the percentage of them is enough to keep me going, it's getting better as I hone in on the important details. I read the newsletter and forums often and glean info from all of you here. Question: I would like to try to help someone who's English is very limited, she's 85 years old. She has pain in her legs I would like to help relieve. Would EFT work if I tapped on her in English or should I get someone who speaks her language to learn EFT and tap on her/tap along with her?  Hi Nina,

You don't sound to new to me. You want to do it and sounds like she wants to do it. I would recommend doing it in English, and when you are helping her get to her core emotional issue, and it seems right to both of you, recommend that she say a word or phrase in her native tongue. You will be able to tell from the tone and sound vibrationally even though you may not know exactly what she is saying--you will feel it... Encourage her to get it out--that can mean that she gets loud and possibly yell whatever she is releasing. If it feel right to you, and you suggest that she say her reminder phrase in her native tongue and she doesn't want it--just let it go and do it all in English.

Great feedback JoAnn.  I agree as long as client understands enough English to get the gist of what you're coaching her to do.  Even when someone speaks English well, I often have them switch to their mother tongue when we're working on deep issues.  As with you JoAnn, I pick up enough on the feel of what they are saying to keep things moving.

I've used it several different times and it worked really well. They can get into it so much better in their mother tongue...

JoAnn, Paul, thank you for your input and insights. I am, indeed, a newbie... HOWEVER, I'm so excited (!!!) I just (minutes ago) ordered the library of training DVDs so that I have the confidence to go a tappin' on everyone that'll allow me. :) (I am a health & fitness coach - my clients often bring up issues that are rooted in the emotional realm that seem to hang like a cloud over their fitness endeavors) I look forward to learning, learning and more learning this EFT world. I love learning from all of you here, I will keep reading but will be absent while I am stuck to the screen watching the DVDs ha. Enjoy the day!

Paul & JoAnn - This is SO exciting! As I said, I ordered the training DVDs, they arrived on the 6th and I've been watching them every chance I get (in other words, I've gotten to be quite a hermit for a few days!). I work during the day so, dangit (ha!), I can only watch a few hours a night and have been pretty much going nonstop this weekend. I bought the entire library so I'm still on the foundational library, on the Palace of Possibilities. I want to run up and down the street and tap on everyone already so I'm wondering what a monster will be created by the time I get to the end!
