EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    Help for bound-up kitty

Poor Travis.  Twelve years ago this summer, he ran out into an isolated, one-lane country road in front of my car.  I had to swerve to miss him, but he just stood there.  My son got out of the car, and this tiny, sickly, 4-week-old kitten jumped up into his arms.  Travis was born with congenital herpes, and at 3 months we nearly lost him.  Travie is the sweetest, most loving cat I've ever owned.  He sings to birds.  He has never in his life shown aggression to anything.  He makes friends with everyone.  The dogs even let him drink milk out of their bowls.

He has a chronic problem with constipation.  He always has problems going.  Sometimes he gets so bound up he can't go at all.  He's had two surgeries already.  Both times he was in the hospital for a week.  Last time the bill was $900.  Vet said he might need a colostomy.

Travie is 12.  While by no means ancient, he's no spring chicken anymore.  I've decided I really don't want to put him through the surgery again.  Not to mention me.  And my pocketbook.  And knowing that surgery will not fix the problem but just remove the present blockage -- maybe even make the overall problem worse -- I don't see the point.  I've tried dietary changes.  He never gets dry cat food -- only fresh meat, milk, and eggs.  Won't eat pumpkin, which was the only suggestion the vet could offer.

Anyway, we're back at that emergency stage again.  Milk of mag and suppositories aren't budging this.  I know from previous experience that my choices at the vet will be surgery or euthanasia.  Conventional medicine, as far as I have been able to research, has nothing else for him.  I've been tapping for him, and I strongly believe that I must find a way to heal him energetically or let him go.

I feel a little responsible because I didn't tap enough for him before he got this bad.  Resistance, perhaps?  Maybe I'm responsible, if he is physically expressing some blockage in my own energy field.

I would appreciate any suggestions.  And if anyone wants to surrogate-tap for a sweet little stray kitty who just happens to be the light of his mother's life, we'd take that too.

Yes, thank you for that.  While that article does not quite apply to Travie's situation, I agree that his problem is also most likely to be emotional in nature.  Either that, or his colon has just progressively weakened, and the surgeries have caused scarring and adhesions in his bowel.  Or both.

I have been tapping for "not wanting to let go," blockages of energy flow, etc.  I don't know any other fronts from which to attack the issue.  I did order some flower essences that I think are relevant.

Actually, I have noticed some small improvements in the last couple of days.  He has been growing stronger and eating more.  This morning, he passed gas.  Yuck, but a sign that something is moving in there I'm hoping.  At least it is in humans.

Good to hear things are moving again.

One question, does he get raw or cooked meat, and raw or pasteurised milk?

Cats in particular can have a hard time digesting cooked animal fats and Trav might be particularly sensetive. Milk as well must always be raw.

Another impacting (pun intended) factor might be that his intestinal flora is out of balance. Ask the vet for some Acido paste and give him that while he goes completely raw (never pork, just beef, lamb, chicken fish), An alternative would be to get some probiotics from a health food shop and to sprinkle a capsule of that on his food every day until the problems have been resolved for several months. Do not feed any grains or starchy veg like corn, beans or peas, and until he is has been well for some time, do not even give him raw milk. You need to avoid all complex carbs, even disaccharides. Do include a small amount of veg like carrot, broccoli, in his food, lightly steamed to release nutrients I find is best.

With all his surgeries and medications, this problem was probably agrivated as antibiotics and anesthesia  can wipe out your gut bacteria, and then it is a hit and miss thing if you get the right balance of bacteria back again.

My two beasts (cat and dog) get a raw food preparate as that is easiest and they like it more than when I make it myself.

I would send EFT thoughts to his intestines, which could be very irritated and even inflamed by the sound of things.

I hope Trav feels better very soon.
