EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

Daughter is "addicted" to negativity and limiting beliefs

I'm a EFT adv. practioner and as hard as it is to accept, I realize that it is best not to attempt to work with my daughter and help her with her long list of issues. It is often the very desire to fix our loved one's problems that does not allow us to let eft through us do it's magic. Even if the intention is present our close relationship is what impedes the process for achieving measurable results.

Her  limiting beliefs (the writing on the walls) and negativity are playing havoc in her life. GI and digestive issues (chronic), panic attacks, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, shyness are driving her more and more into  isolation. We live in a  rural area in  Northern Canada  far away from any larger centres so there are no eft practitioners for hundreds of miles from here. Would eft by telephone (or messaging) be effective ?  Her core issues are not linked to any traumatic memories or events and her childhood was a pretty happy one. She just graduated from University recently ( Academically she has faired very well despite her problems)  but in her present condition cannot make any plans for the future. Presently she's seeing a Naturopathic Doctor for her physical issues ( that possibly have a strong emotional connection)

Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It would be a real blessing to connect with someone that would be able to help her pick up her life again and mend her injured spirit.

Best Regards and Blessings to all!

    Hello Nomed,

My name is Jack, I am one of the forum moderators. Welcome to the addictions forum.

EFT works very well via the telephone. I worked with my first EFT therapist Carol Look for 6 months before I met her and it worked very well for us and about 50% of the people I work with are phone clients. I have a client who lives overseas and we communicate via Skype. It is as good as having her in my office.

Their are some very good practitioners on this forum and I am sure many of them will respond to this post. There is also a practitioner directory on the emofree homepage under 'find a practitioner'.

You may want to consider finding someone you both like. It sounds like you might want to do some sessions together and see what happens. There is a family dynamic very much in play here.

    Best wishes,

    Jack

    Hi Nomed,

I agree with Jack phone work is VERY effective and I do alot of it. I use SKYPE alot also. I have an 85% phone clientle  as I am also in rural area but not far from larger cities and I do have an office for those that want face to face. Some prefer it at least for 1st session.

If she can communicate well then working over the phone should not be an issue.

    Make it a great day!

    Hi Maryanne,

Have you by chance taken a look into PEAT, If not then go google and type in " PEAT energy healing", and you should find a web site that to some degree explains what this meridian  tapping modality is all about.  Knowing EFT, you likely know of aspects of BSFF, it too is another tapping healing modality that of itself deals more with beliefs.

    Take Care,

    Harry

Re: Daughter is "addicted" to negativity and limiting beliefs

    Hello Nomed

I have found that one of the beauties of EFT is not only can you find a practitioner that 'fits' you and your spirit / personality because of the ability to direct the healing and guidance via phone and/or computer but as a practitioner it takes away one of your senses, leaving you with automatically honing into the others with greater intention and intensity ... listening and feeling being very powerful tools. It also takes away any distractions from either party as the practitioner can more easily take notes without the client wondering what's going on or what they are writing about me ... taking the focus of their healing and guidance to another dimension or focus.

And the other beauty is many times I have found and experienced that one of the elements to healing is being in the home environment and healing that connection between being and space. Obviously this allows that to take place without effort as well.

And I would like to commend you for reaching out and realizing that many times it IS best for everyone to step aside when it comes to those TOO close to us as we may go in with preconceived thoughts and notions and therefore actually BE IN THE WAY without meaning to or realizing it, which as we both know can and will slow if not stop the progress of the healing and guidance :)  Good for you Mom!!!

I trust this will help guide you to your daughter's next step and I'd enjoy hearing your thoughts here.

    In Peace, Kathleen
