EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    WHERE IS the Sore Spot???

OK, after tapping for a good while now I'm STILL confused abut where the sore spot is.  Is it BENEATH the collar bone?  Or BESIDE the collar bone?  Can anyone send me to a link with a BIG chart I can see?  I'm so confused.  :)  Arum

Your confusion is the very reason that many of us don't use the sore spot!  The karate point does exactly the same thing for the setup statement and is much easier to find.

Unless you are talking about the collarbone point as part of the tapping sequence?  If you are talking about the collarbone point, put your finger in the V bit below your throat, then move about an inch out and an inch down.  The easiest way to be sure you have it covered is to tap with your hand in a loose fist or the palm of your hand.

If you do still want to know where the sore spot is anyway, you just have to poke around a bit in the area below your collarbone coming down your chest.  It's not a specific spot that is the same on everyone, it's something you need to find on yourself.  The vagueness of it is what makes the karate point easier to use!

Let me know if all I've done is add confusion!

    Very best wishes,

    Jo

Jo, thank your for your comment.  While watching one of Gary's videos, I remember him saying that that sore spot is "more powerful" than the KC meridian. Also on different sites there were a variety of comments such as,"you find it where you would pin a broach".  At one time it appeared to be to the "left" of the collar bone meridian,(which I use), and then another site said that it was "below" the collar bone", and yet another said it was different for different people. It would look silly to pin a broach below you collar bone.  :) Although I've tried to find a good chart, that hasn't happened yet. Also beings the sore spot release's a variety of emotions it seems important to me. Maybe I will go back to the left of the collar bone and hope it's there.  :)  Arum

Re: WHERE IS the Sore Spot???

Arum - OK, I've had a look on the net and here's what I've found.  There's an EFT on a page that has a picture and a little note at the bottom of the page on how to find the sore spot (read note three at the bottom of the page):  http://www.theamt.com/library/EFT_On_A_Page.pdf

There is also an interesting note at the bottom of this page http://www.eftwizard.com/basicpoints that has a different way of explaining it.

If after reading these you are still having difficulty finding it, try the following tapping, using the Karate Point for the setup:

    • Even though I can't find my sore spot, I deeply and completely love and accept myself
    • Even though I REALLY can't find my sore spot and I don't trust my ability to take a deep breath, relax and poke around and find it, I deeply and completely love and accept myself
    • Even though I'm so confused, I SO want to find the sore spot and I just can't find it, I choose to relax and trust that I can do this.  I choose to place my hand about 3" down and 3" out from the tips of my collarbone, and feel around with my fingers and locate my own personal sore spot."

    Happy discovering!

    Jo
