EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    Back Surgery

In February of this year I suffered a car accident from which I sustained damage to 3 cervical disks (read neck portion of the column) that produced chronic pain in my right arm, loss of strength and loss of mobility. After extensive and very expensive tests I underwent a surgery in May 08 (about 3 months ago) to replace 2 disks and have a plate introduced to return the curvature to my neck. I have had physical therapy and many expensive drugs with minor improvement to my pain. After hearing about EFT I ordered the Foundational Library DVDs so I could give this process a good try. Ive been trying it out but only achieve minor improvements to the pain in my shoulder and arm. Any suggestions out there would be helpful since I understand that some are more difficult to eliminate than others. thx, Javier

    Re: Back Surgery

    Hi Javier,

Please give yourself credit for being open to EFT and for moving forward even with minor improvements. Some would have given up on EFT off at this point saying it isn't very good or doesn't work for them. I think your desire to reach out for help will be key to your recovery.

For sure things like obvious physical damage tend take a bit longer than vibrational types of pain i.e. a negative emotion in the knee -- so, please be patient with yourself. The body needs time to catch up with the mind and our intentions.

In your situation, a very helpful application for EFT is to use it on the suffering. The negative self talk that may be going through your mind and any stressful emotions that are coming up for you.

If you would like to know more about tapping on these things, then let me know and I will expand for you.

Remember to send your self some love and appreciation for stepping forward in this forum.

    Blessings to you, Karen

    Re: Back Surgery

Thank you soo much Karen for your loving email and desire to help. What you say is very logical and rings true in me. Please expand on the negative self talk since I think that there may be a good amount of that as an ingredient in my condition. I currently feel a lot of pressure because I also lost my job due to my surgery and are currently looking for a new one. Luckily I have a passive income (Im the only breadwinner in a beautiful family of two young kids and a wife) that pays for the basic necessities but Im surely feeling the stress of not being able to provide a higher standard of living right now and sometimes have to do miracles to stretch the money we do have coming in. I also have a column in a newspaper here and got sued by a lowlife developer that was scamming people and I wrote a couple of articles on him. The night of the accident I went to trial regarding that case which will take some time to be resolved. I definitely feel a little anxious because I dont want to lose my most productive years and instead of making money Im just surviving. Ive come to think that all of that is playing its part and did a little tapping on the "trial movie" to some degree of advancement. Nevertheless do tell me more about attacking negative self talk or stressful emotions arising from my current condition. Thank you again for your kind support. Take care, Javier

    Re: Back Surgery

    Hi Javier,

Thanks for expanding on your situation for me, I appreciate your letting me in on your life. You are right, you can definately tap around the trial and other associated events and make some great headway... keep on doing that.

I was thinking about what to write back and I remembered an interview on eft-revealed.com with Rick Wilkes about back pain. He is an expert on the subject of pain and has gone through it himself having major back surgery in 1999. Here is the link for his interview:

He does a great job explaining what to tap on around this whole issue including the suffering I spoke about. If after listening, you have any questions please post a message.

    Take care, Karen

P.S. Rick's site is www.thrivingnow.com and there are tons of free EFT resources there. I belong to his Thriving Now Team and it is great to be in a community of like minded people who want vibrant thriving lives and are using EFT to help them attain it!
