Hi,
I have a problem in my gum - swelling and extreme soreness and tenderness. I lost the tooth there some time back and have an implant. I recently read on the site of a woman who completely fixed problems with a bad tooth, and so I've been tapping on this problem. I've used: this swelling in my gum, tenderness in my gum, soreness in my gum, infection in my gum, problem with my implant, and had only very slight improvement. I tap on top of eyebrow, side of eye, under eye, under nose, chin, collarbone, underarm, wrist point, karate chop point and crown of head. I tried being more specific and saying "top left gum", and I've also tried affirming "even though I don't think EFT will help" just in case it's that. What else can I try? Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks,
Linda

Hi Dancingcrone,
Have you tried tapping on alternative points which are directly on or near the pain? You mentioned the pain is in the top left gum-- so I would probably start with the hollow, just below & inward from where your cheekbone meets your temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Then tap around gently, looking for a blockage (or sensitive area) anwhere on that side of your face, from your under-nose point, to the side/bridge of your nose, below the eye, the temple -- and even at the point where your earlobe meets your neck (which would seem more like tapping on the lower jaw) and in the hollow area beneath the skull, between the two main muscles of your neck. These are just ideas, but tap around and see if you can find any areas which are a little more sore. You might even find some along the lower jaw or down into the front/side of your neck.
When you find area(s) that might be blocked, do some concentrated tapping directly on them. Notice if you happen to get any deep breath sighs at any of these points.
-
Try to recall what was going on for you when the pain started... In the days or weeks just prior.
-
How did you feel about losing that tooth, and having to have it replaced. What did it all mean to you?
-
The dentist? Did you trust him/her? etc. etc.
If you don't get any relief fairly quickly, I'd certainly schedule another visit to your dentist.
Let us know how it goes, and many blessings to you!

Linda,
I agree with Leigha, you want to get to the root of the problem, and you want to get under the physical pain or condition. I like to refer to Louise Hay's, I Can Heal My Life, and what she suggests about teeth problems is:
Has their been something that you have had a hard time making your mind up about? Or have you had a hard time breaking down ideas and making decisions? It really helps to be specific with EFT. If this idea fits for you, then you would make a set-up phrase using the situation. For example, Even though:
-
I have had a hard time making up my mind about _____________, I deeply and completely love and accept myself
-
it has been difficult for me to get to the root of this particular problem _______________...
-
I find it hard to believe that this is related...
Please let me know if this helps or if it triggers a related idea that may help.
Gratefully yours,
JoAnn

Hello.
Sorry for the delay in getting back, I've had a couple of hectic days and I'm afraid I've only just read SkyWatcher's message. What might have happened - oh, nothing I could think of (and I've read so often that you have to find the root cause) but... In November my husband and I moved from England to France (a long held dream) together with two very dear friends who now live in an adjacent house. Two or three weeks ago our friends drove back to England and were involved in an accident there, luckily they were fine but the car was a write-off, and we were really quite worried about them. Then the day my tooth trouble started my husband returned to England (by train) for a few days, and I would never have said this would have been a problem for me as I rather enjoy having the house to myself for a bit. But it was obviously worth tapping round both these issues, as well as Leigha's suggestion of tapping round the area, and in fact I found a couple more tender areas (top left nose and lower jaw). Nothing seemed to happen immediately but the next morning it was so much better, swelling gone altogether and very slight tenderness which may have been caused by brushing round there with antiseptic gel and I'll continue just to get rid of that, although it's not really a problem now. Wonderful! By the way, I do have a dental check up scheduled for next month. Many, many thanks, Linda

Hello Linda!
I'm so glad to hear it worked for you! I find so often that tapping on some of these alternative points (in addition to the basics of course!) not only helps to release some of those really stubborn pains, but can also sometimes help to trigger an insight into the underlying emotions. Very happy you found some relief :-)
Many blessing to you!
