I fell a month ago and broken my left shoulder. I keep it in a sling, and was just given some exercises to do a week ago. The Dr. said it was a bad break (just below the ball, and a piece of the ball broke off), but I did not have surgery (no insurance.) I've been doing EFT for several months now, and have had terrific results for my fibromyalgia.
I have been less successful with the constant pain I've had since this accident. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hello,
I have recently read about fractures (I broke my ankle 2 weeks ago) that they might reflect an inflexibility.
Are you resisting the flow of your life? In everyone's life, there is a part of letting go and holding it together...sometimes the holding it together is challenged...
Using an affirmation from Louise Hay: "I choose to allow all my experiences to be joyous and loving", maybe obstacles will come up, old beliefs, etc...these should give you clues to tap on.
All the best,
Fabienne

Hi Janedoe
If you could give some more info on what you've been tapping on it would be helpful. I appreciate you posted this a couple of weeks ago, so you may have made progress since then. The first tips for working with pain are:
1. Be very specific and leave your unconscious mind in no doubt of exactly where this pain is and exactly how it feels.
2. Tap on the event that caused the injury, using the movie technique, if you know it. I'll detail it for you if you need any help with that.
3. Tap on the feelings and emotions you have about the event and about now.
4. Tap on any beliefs you may hold about your ability to heal without surgery etc. I say that as you mentioned you didn't have surgery as you don't have insurance, this could be having an influence on your body getting on and doing its job of healing. Clear the emotions around the events and any beliefs and your body then has the space to heal. Its not overloaded with emotion.
Hope this helps.

Hello Janedoe
You mentioned that this was your 'left' shoulder. The left side connects to the mother or female issues which could also be with your self as well [I'm assuming you are a female ... if not, then this would not be associated with your relationship with self necessarily]. I would suggest that you connect there, with the female issues / relationship [mother issues] and be sure to keep a notebook handy because as you tap along other aspects will surface and they too need to be paid attention to and addressed for complete release.
I'd be curious to hear about your experience with this.
Peace, Kathleen

Thank you, Fabienne, for your response. I am in the process of selling my home (where I was born) and moving to an apartment about 80 miles away, so I have been dealing with a lot of "letting go" of things. I like the affirmation you suggested. I am better, and the pain lessens each day. Thank you again.

Thank you, Alison, for your suggestions. I apologize for the delay in responding. I've been house & pet sitting for friends and haven't had easy access to the internet. In the beginning I was very angry with myself for not paying attention to what I was doing when the fall happened. I had been "free" for only a month from having my left arm in a cast after breaking my ulna near the wrist. That was my first broken bone, and I'm 63. I was just diagnosed last November with severe osteoporosis, a condition my mother had which eventually led to her death. When the Dr. gave me that diagnosis, I remember telling him, "I'm going to be just like my mother!" I didn't want to be like her.
Earlier this year I worked with Alina Frank, EFT Adv., and she helped me through some of those issues. I have been tapping on some "mother" issues that have come up since the fall, and I've been tapping on healing, despite what the Dr. predicted. I saw him again yesterday, and he was blown away with my x-rays. There was all this new bone growth that he didn't expect so soon. He was also amazed at how much movement I've regained already. In the beginning, he predicted I'd be lucky if I regained about half of normal mobility in that arm because it was such a bad break. Yesterday, he said (with a big smile on his face) that he believes I'll have full mobility within 6 months. Then he added, "And to think you've come this far without surgery." How about that!!
So, when the pain creeps in, I start tapping on it and keep my mind open to any other issues that arise. Thanks again to you and others in the EFT community who responded. I'm HEALING!

Hello, Congratulations on your progress!!! Keep doing what your doing, and I would like to make a suggestion. When the intensity level for what ever issue that you are tapping on gets down to around a 3 really emphasize I deeply and completely love and accept myself. You can also affirm the positive. For example, - I choose to allow all of my experiences in life be joyful and loving
- My body is healing with ease and grace
- I am grateful for this experience and see the gift in it
Consider going on a Gratitude Diet. The shero's version involves taking the situations that you don't like or that seem undesirable and being grateful for the gift that is within the situation. Tap while you are being grateful. If any negative self-talk comes up--yay--more to tap on and nuetralize. There is no hurry, and you are going the perfect pace for your self. Be open for small miracles every day. You don't have to wait until a certain time of day to express your gratitude. You can take a mini-gratitude break. It is about being in the present moment and then recognizing the beauty in that moment. Please disregard any ideas here that don't work for you. I would love to know about your process. Gratefully yours, JoAnn

Broken bones hurt. Never mind tapping into this or that. It takes time to heal. Eat a good diet, when you are healed enough do the guided exercises to regain strength and mobility. And be reassured that bodies do heal well usually. But injuries like this may take up to a year to fully recover to their maximum amount. Trust your body to heal. Never mind all this tapping. Don't obsess about mental attitudes. Just allow your body time to heal. The pain will lessen as the tissues recover. A month is not a long time with an injury like this.. You may have pain for months to come but it will lessen. Do not panic that it takes a long time. You have to be patient. Be glad that it is something that will improve with time. I wish you all the best. Be confident that it will get better.

I too fell down cement stairs onto cement and broke my shoulder in the same place..it has been about 8 weeks and they said it should be healed in 4 weeks so it has scared me..... i am still suffering with severe pain even though i am able to do more and more as time goes on, the one area that has hurt from the beginning is still awful...i havent worn my sling in quite a while i believe the sling was keeping it to be more stiff.... cant raise my arm yet but hopefully soon....i have been stretching it for a while now and it is not easy.....i just keep moving forward and trying every day to stretch it out more...i am always in fear somethig is wrong because it is still so painful.....thank you for your comments which make me feel not so alone in this....oh and this happened 2 weeks after i had major surgery on my right ankle so it was double hard...doing things with my left hand was very interesting also.....i have definitely learned to never take anything for granted especially limbs....

check out the above thread about dislocated shoulder that has great tapping ideas.
they really work!
And JoAnn, thank you for idea of tapping on gratitude for the gift in the thing. I tried tapping on being grateful for the gift in overwhelm, and the thought came up: But it's dangerous to be overwhelmed you might die! and so I tapped on that, and now I'm just rolling with laughter at the thought of dying from overwhelm! it's the funniest thing I ever thought of!
love Rachel

Rachel, Perfect! That is exactly how EFT works. You ask questions. You tap. You pay attention & your intuition gives you answer. You listen to the answer even if it seems wierd or off the wall. Tap again until things get cleared. I trust my intuition much more than when I first started doing EFT, & it continues to give me incredible gifts. I love EFT. Thanks for sharing.
