EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

headache with neck and shoulder pain

I am just learning about EFT.  Sometime when I tap, my headache or shoulder pain diminishes or disappears.  Sometime there is no effect.  What can I do to improve my results?

     Hi,

I am happy to hear that you are learning about EFT.

To improve your results you want to get to the emotions that are under your condition. Anytime you make a pain go away with EFT and it comes back, you have dealt with an issue, but there is more to deal with.

For example, what is it that you feel you are shouldering? What is a burden for you?

Also, according to Louise Hay's book, You Can Heal Your LIfe, headaches can have to do with invalidating the self. Self-criticism. Fear.

    Hope something here is helpful.

    Gratefully yours,

    JoAnn

Skywatcher, I am now reading Louise Hays book, and It's kind of hard for me to believe that some of the things she says are  the way they are.  I mean, having cataracts, meaning you are seeing a dark future for yourself.  Don't get me wrong, she seems to be a highly intelligent individual, however some things sound kind of far out.  :) Arum

    Arum,

Some of what she says may seem a bit far out, but read it with an open mind. Just see it as a possibility. If you have really strong resistance to something that she says, you might want to look at that.

I have found that book incredibly helpful. Look at what she suggests, and see if it gives you any insights. If is is too far out, just let it go. Personally, I just look to see what nuggets of truth are there. I have found a lot of them over the years. Sometimes it doesn't fit. When it doesn't--just let it go.

Something else I like about the list is the positive statements that she gives. If you like them, you can use them when you get the intensity level down to a 3 or lower. My clients usually like what I get from Louise Hay. But again, if it doesn't fit--just let that one go.

    Gratefully yours,

    JoAnn

Skywatcher, excellent points!  Anywho, who wouldn't want to investigate the writings and thoughts of such an insightful person?  I know I do.  Thanks for the comment.  :)  Arum

Re: headache with neck and shoulder pain

Wonderful advice already given but in addition I would like to say that headaches can and do have various reasons for appearing. Depending on where they occur is also of great importance and can help to determine the root of the cause, for instance the front of the head vs the sides or top. Keep a diary of your headaches and this is also another wonderful way to determine your headaches causes. Lets say you ate too much sugar today and found your self having a headache in a particular part of the head, make note of that and compare it to the next time you have a headache of the same type. See if the results and outcome match each other time and time again. Or perhaps you didn't drink any or enough water and/or had too much salty food and then the following day you are overwhelmed with a headache. Again, keep that information in your headache journal and eventually you will have your own guide and book to your own symptoms and causes. I trust this will help guide you and hope you enjoy your self discovery and healing journey. Peace, Kathleen
