EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

    Stuttering

    Hi to all,

I write from France and would like to get an advice about how to heal a stuttering that occurred when I was thirty months old, when my brother was born (I was prevented from getting upstairs in the clinic where my mother was with the baby, because of contamination risks, and had a very violent fit of  rage in my grandmother's car, having seen my mother at the window, waving to me and calling me - this is what I've been told, for I have no memory of the incident).

On the next morning, I stuttered (in the preceding days, an aunt of mine who lived with me had noticed my talking was deteriorating, as anxiety about the new baby increased, I guess).

I've been through many therapies, even a psychoanalysis, & speech therapy, with poor results on speech difficulties. Now I'm 54, I have been living with this problem for too long and want to get rid of it, as it prevents me from doing a lot of things.

How could I use tapping on that symptom ? The point is, I've got no memory of the initial traumatic incident (stuttering has been a pain throughout my life, much more as a child than later ; many little traumatic incidents to work on)

Anyone who healed stuttering among you EFT therapists ?

Very many thanks in advance : resolving this problem really would enhance my life !

    Re: Stuttering

Tapping on the symptoms may not be the best course.

You have enough information about the original incident to work with it. You don't have to remember it, you just need to imagine it. What would it have felt like? Tap on those emotions.

    Re: Stuttering

    Hi Francois,

I would work with: Even though I wanted to see my mom, but they didn't hear me,

Even though I felt so violated that they wouldn't let me to her

Even though I was so hopeless that I never wanted to talk to them again

Even though I was so angry, I knwe she wanted to see me, but they wouldn't let me,

Even though I might have felt that my voice never gets heard

Even though I believed that I just couldn't explain it right

Even though I might have wanted to say something different, but they wouldn't let me,...

    Somewhere along those lines.

Are you working with an EFT practitioner right now?
