EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

How often can/should you do an EFT session?

How often can/should you do an EFT session?

    Greetings!

I was recently taught EFT by my nurse practitioner. I am a little nervous to start using it on my own, but have been receiving little 'messages' from all around me in my life that it is time to start.

I have many emotional and health issues (I hate to sound like a wreck, but I guess I basically am), and am wondering how often one can/should to EFT? Multiple times a day? Several times a week? Once or twice a week?

Also, I wonder how to decide where to start. What issues would be best to start with? Or does it not really matter, since everything (emotional and physical) is intertwined?

I have many more questions, but will leave it at that for now.

    Thanks in advance for input/advice!

    Hello Laura - and Welcome!

Congratulations on recognizing the little signs all around you as you say - being aware of these subtle nudges can be very rewarding.

For starters - there is , in my opinion, no such thing as too much tapping. Granted, at first you may just tire of it, your tapping spots or fingers my get tender, and sometimes it is helpful to take breaks to more fully integrate the changes as they come about. But other then that, the more you tap the better, in my opinion.

There is also the theory of toning the energy system by basically constantly tapping throughout the day. Self tapping the finger points with the same hand is one method, or using other shortcuts, segments, one single point, or the complete long version. Follow your gut feeeling on this - intuition plays a big part - the answers to most of your questions are already within you, you just need to learn how to access the answers and trust your self.

You've provided one possible starting place in your post - "Even though I feel like I'm basically a wreck, I deeply and completly love, honor and accept myself as I am today."  Or start with a smaller symptom, such as 'even though I have this headache....'  or whatever particular symptom you'd like relief on.

And remember, phrasing is not necessarily required to gain benefits - let yourself just get in the habit of tapping one or two points, or your finger and or hand points, during idle time, such as waiting in line or in traffic.

You don't need to make large leaps of progress - just keep getting good at feeling a little bit better each time you use EFT, the cumulative effect will amaze you.

Feel free to respond with any other questions you may have,

     best,

    Phil
