EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

What happens to the energy that is released?

What happens to the energy that is released?

I have used EFT quite successfully on myself and my clients, but I have stopped using energy therapies in general as a result of an unanswered quesiton that I feel is quite important to get answered if I am to carry on in this work.

Specifically, I was using EmoTrance (a similar energy therapy that uses light trance, visualisation and intention to release energy blocks) when a client was describing the energy that was leaving her, in a cloudlike form, and when I asked "... And what's happening now?" she replied "It's going into YOU!"

Needless to say I didn't panic and continued the session, but is raised the question in my mind "What happens to the stuck energy when it is released?"

I had stopped using EFT, EmoTrance, and in fact Reiki, in my home, for want of the answer to this question.  Well, the other night when there was something I really wanted to clear, I thought, just do it, so I used EFT on myself while sitting in bed just before going to sleep.  It was quite effective, as I was yawning uncontrollably (something that happens to me when I know it's working well), and when I had done sufficient to be satisfied it would continue to clear on it's own, I layed down to sleep.

While dozing off, I was inclined to opened my eyes briefly and saw above me this black 'mess' hovering above my head.  I'm relatively accustomed to seeing these types of things, but usually they are something recognisable.  This time, however, what came to mind is what I was looking at was an interconnected mess of 'stuff' that had been released.  I simply rolled over, and went to sleep.

However, it did raise, again, the question... what happens to the energy that is released?

I would love to hear what others have experienced with 'seeing' the energy that is released, and also, how you believe the use of energy therapies affects the environments in which we work; at home, in the client's home, or a clinic or office.

My opinion.  In the physical it manifests as well-being, lightness and freedom.  In the subtle physical it strengthens the subtle body.  If you meditate, your meditations will become deeper and more powerful.

What comes immediately to my mind when I read this is 'entity'.  They can feed on the energy/strong emotion of human beings.  Usually it takes a trauma of some sort or someone foolish enough to channel to give them entry.  I comment because they can leave a person feeling drained all the time. This procedure for clearing energy parasites and this for shielding (same as last article) will help.  The stronger your subtle body, the more they are attracted to you (you look like a big juicy steak or a savory vegetable curry) :-).  And the less likely they are to affect you unless you invite them to.

I think the energy that the practitioner brings is the most important factor in the energy of the place of practice.   The clients will probably have energy that is disruptive or discordant (though after experiencing the energy of some of the posters to these forums, I have to say that won't always be true) but you will help that with your therapy/healing and your personal vibration.  If you have any power at all (you meditate or did) and you work with energy in a consistent place, over time it will come to reflect your vibration and will feel like you.  You will begin receiving positive comments from your clients as they enter the space (if they are at all sensitive).

What I'm saying is if your energy is crappy, the energy of your workplace will be crappy.  If your energy is refined, the energy of your workplace will be refined.

I think this is at the boundary between energy therapy and spiritual practice so I'll stop there.

Re: What happens to the energy that is released?

When doing any form of energy work you can get stagnant energy left behind. Ever walked into a room where you could sense the bad argument that had gone on before? Stagnant energy has been left behind - whoever was involved let it out and left it behind as they were done with it. I'd suggest the same happens with the releases we get with energy work.

As a result, I always do space clearing in my therapy room. There are many ways of space clearing from using sound (e.g. as simple as clapping of hands), scent (e.g. incense), visualisation (e.g. streaming white light in using your intent), touch (e.g. Reiking the space). In my experience, the key to all of this is the intention you set either at the beginning of you work, or at some point through it. For example, you could intend that the energy which is released is grounded to be recycled for better.

In my Reiki tuition I make sure that my students know not to move stagnant energy any old place where someone else might walk into it. Instead, they learn to change the energy to something more positive through their work with Reiki. As you're Reiki attuned this is something you can do with your skill in that therapy.

For others who are only interested in using EFT, I'd suggest that simple intention that what they release is changed to better energy is enough.

Only my opinion, but even if a person didn't set their intention to clean up stagnant energy that's released and it stayed with them in some shape or form, I'd guess it would wash away in the shower or move away when they go outdoors. They've cut their connection with what was affecting them and are ready to move it on. So it needn't stay with them.

Another to consider is that energy is neither created or destroyed. It can change form or go to a different location.

Kinesiology often talks about releasing energy to a place where it is unconditionally loved or to a place where it can serve the greater good.

I also have an intention that any energy release is instantly transformed into sparks of wondeful life enhancing energy.

Yet another option is to ensure that both you, your client, and the room have large grounding tubes so that any energy released goes down these tubes into the earth where again it is transformed in life enhancing energies.

    Regards,
    Rod

Re: What happens to the energy that is released?

Very interesting.  I was fortunately trained in Tera-Mai Reiki before my introduction to EFT.  I am also a trained scientist and am asking my engineer partner as I type, so I will answer both ways with examples.  I will use very simplified terms - please don't assume this is due to lack of understanding, I just want to explain as simply as I can.

    Tera-Mai Reiki Examples

Tera-Mai Reiki has this wonderful facility called the Violet Flame or Violet Fire.  We imagine a violet flame, maybe all around us or even by our side.  This Violet Flame I often imagine the same size as a rubbish bin or trash can.  We are trained to find the energy that feels or looks "wrong" and throw it into the Violet Flame.  The Violet Flame then works with the Universe to transmute or recycle the released energy into something more useful, returning the energy as good energy.  We do not have to worry about this, the Universe does it for us.

Tera-Mai Reiki also trains us to have a constant healing energy coming through our Crown Chakra and leaving through the soles of our feet.  This is a constant stream, never-ending, always there.  We never "catch" any bad energy as a cleaning, healing energy is always going through us, and any excess or unwanted energy goes out through the soles of our feet.  This released energy is then earthed and the Universe transmutes or recycles it into something more useful.

You may well then ask what happens when a curse or bad thought is sent, why does it not get transmuted or recycled?   The reason is twofold; the intention of the sender and the intention of the receiver.  As with the Law of Attraction, if someone is expecting a curse or avoiding a curse or anything a curse, they attract a curse.  If someone is expecting blessings, accepting blessings, and sending blessings, they will attract a blessing.

    Science/Engineering Examples

Inside a car engine, we start with combustion of air, fuel, and a spark.  This becomes an expansion "energy".   The exapansion "energy" then becomes a turning "energy" which turns components in the car engine that lead to the wheels turning.  Then the energy becomes a motion "energy".

In other words, the energy changes.

Then you may well ask, what happens to ensure that the energy changes?  Again, that is in the intention.  Let us say the sender is sending a voice message of "I love you" via a mobile or cellular phone.  The sender's voice "energy" is changed to electromagnetic "energy", which then travels to the receiver's phone.  This is then changed to voice "energy" again, which the receiver hears.  However, the receiver could have arranged it so that their mobile phone is part of an incendiary device, and when it received that electromagnetic "energy", instead of hearing "I love you", the receiver is blown up for terrorist purposes - an explosion "energy".  Two totally different intentions and outcomes.
