EFT was originally developed to reduce the therapy process from months/years down to minutes/hours. As emotional problems faded, both physical health and personal performance improved (often dramatically). As a result, EFT is spreading quickly among the healing community. It is an emotional version of acupressure wherein certain meridian release points are gently stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

EFT Blog

My final comments on the EFT World Summit issue

My gratitude for your many responses as they have created this opportunity to share my perspective in a positive light.

But first, a little history.

When EFT was first created in the ‘90's, it was but a dream in my mind ... an inspiration ... a spiritual undertaking that could bring healing to the world in ways previously unknown.  Further, most people could do the basics for themselves and the costs would be minimal.  EVERYONE could use it ... from the ultra rich to the poorest people on the planet.  It is an exquisite thought ... and one that I cherish.

I imagined a world where anger, greed and trauma would eventually be replaced by love and cooperation.  This is possible, of course, but only if we can neutralize our resentments, fears, etc. with a tool like EFT.

It is also necessary to have cooperation among multitudes (you).  Without a cohesive band of dedicated souls working TOGETHER, this dream would lapse into chaos.

So the EFT Community was born in 1997 with an email list of 20 people.  It has been a beautiful experience to watch that initial seed grow into rose gardens and majestic forests.  Today, even though we have never advertised, our email list has grown to 440,000 and the free EFT Manual has been downloaded over 1 million times.  We are now appearing regularly in the media and are developing an impressive array of validating research.

In short, we have hit critical mass and the EFT phenomenon is poised to explode worldwide.  I expect we will have a commanding presence in the world within 5 years.

But this would be impossible without a cohesive EFT Community.  One man cannot do this alone.  It takes all of us.  It takes your dedication and enthusiasm and your joint voices to echo this message to every corner of the world.  You are doing this from San Francisco to London to New Zealand and beyond.  I sit in gratitude and awe at what you are doing and have been doing so for over a decade.

There is nothing more powerful than a team that works seamlessly together.  The coach (me) helps guide the team.  I create the plays and provide tools and inspiration.  But the team (you) plays the game.  Our joint accomplishments to date have been stunning.  Together we have provided an ocean of personal peace and healing not to mention the personal satisfactions you have generated for yourselves.

Life isn't perfect, however, and not everyone is a team player.  That is why I legally registered the terms Emotional Freedom Techniques EFT in the US and elsewhere around the world many years ago.  Initially I did this to keep disreputable interests from registering the terms for themselves.  If I hadn't done this, exploiters would have registered the terms and would now have the right to control use of the terms, potentially interfering with your ability to conduct workshops and use the terms in your websites, books, etc.  They could also put you out of business for trespassing on these terms.

I have these same rights but, as you know, I choose to use them quite differently.  In my hands, my trademarks are a guiding mechanism.  A rudder to guide this ship into the waters of integrity and spiritual wonderment.  I call it the Open Hand Policy.

At first the Open Hand Policy gave very wide latitude, asking only that "Emotional Freedom Techniques" and "EFT" be used ethically.  I could not have known in advance what liberties people would take with this generous permission and so I waited and watched how things unfolded.  Over time I noticed that people were using the EFT logo improperly so I adjusted the Open Hand Policy to create appropriate rules.  Later, there were questionable activities regarding workshops, websites and practitioner listings associated with EFT.  Accordingly, the rules were adjusted again.  More recently, we developed an official EFT Certification program to bring consistency to the credentialing process and adjusted the rules yet again.

Whenever I make these necessary adjustments they are always made for the overall good of the EFT Community.  That's what must be understood by everyone.  Without them, chaos would reign and our team would fall apart.

I am always amused at how these adjustments lead some folks to say, "Gary has changed."  Not so.  It is the EFT landscape that is ever changing.  This is inevitable as we grow.  For example, you live in a country where the laws are forever changing to reflect the changing social, financial and political atmosphere.  Where would your country be without these laws?  Would you like to live in a country where everyone could do as they pleased without any rules?

I am pleased with the overall acceptance and compliance with our Open Hand Policy.  Most people recognize both the legal and ethical need to comply and I have yet to take any one to court for enforcement.  That doesn't mean that everyone has complied yet.  Some people, for example, don't read our newsletter or website and aren't aware that they are out of compliance.  Later this year, I expect to assemble a team to bring these rules to the attention of everyone.

I appreciate Mr. Ortner's cooperation and understanding in the matter of the proper use of the EFT trademarks and agreeing not to mis-use the EFT trademarks in the future (i.e. using another term such as "tapping").  He has graciously even agreed to pass his new material by me to ensure he is in compliance with our policies.  Accordingly, I consider this whole EFT World Summit matter as a "mistake of enthusiasm" and am letting it be.  Investing more energy on this serves no useful purpose and distracts us from moving forward with the many exciting projects in front of us.

Onward.

Love, Gary

PS:  There are a some clarifications needed regarding the previous communications.

First, I was not objecting to anyone making money as a result of selling EFT products.  I have promoted this ability for years, so long as it is done ethically and according to our Open Hand Policy.  My point was not that Mr. Ortner was earning money but rather HOW it was being done ... AND ... that these marketing methods were being done under a presumed EFT banner.

Second, some concluded that I was casting dispersions on the integrity of the presenters.  This was not my intention and I apologize for any misunderstanding.

Third, Mr. Ortner DID offer me a place on the EFT World Summit.  This was done after the announcement was made and after I objected.  I declined his offer as my appearance could be seen as an endorsement.

Finally, our Open Hand Policy is a work in progress and I will be coming out with a significant revision later this year.  In the meantime, here is the current version.

Excellent!  I think the correct decisions all around.  As in anything exciting some tend to get overexcited and go off on a tangent with absolutely no desire to hurt anyone but with a zeal to let the world know about whatever it is.

Kudos to you sir for having the maturity to see it for what it is, and Kudos to Mr Ortner for having the intelligence and courage to accept the truth and bring himself into line with it.

God bless

I left a comment yesterday in support of Gary.

P.S   We just got home a little while ago after hitting a full-grown deer not far from town. Our van is probably a total loss but we were not hurt, thankfully. I felt very upset and immediately my husband told me to tap. I used my familiar technique I learned from Gary and after a full round I took a deep breath and my heart rate slowed and I felt much better! This is the reality of what Gary developed and passed on to us.

Thanks again Gary.

Dear Gary,

I am so sorry to see this happen.

I had no idea.  I saw the summit marketed on another web site and to see that this has been set up in such a way is disturbing.

Your open hand policy is brilliant and I've watched EFT grow in use exponentially.

It has been amazing to behold.

We use it often with the families I work with and personally with great results.

And I thank you for this.  It has been a great gift to many in my own little sphere of influence.

The way it has been presented makes it possible to use it so that we are comfortable with the method without imposition of rigid controls from above like other modalities out there and without the tremendous costs.

There is justice and God ultimately IS in control.

Glad things are settling in a positive way.  Looking forward to the future of EFT.

I am new to EFT, and my goal is to become an EFT Practitioner and help not only myself, children, family and friends, but to have a business someday soon. So, when I was invited to listen to the EFT Summit recordings, I honesty thought that they were a part of your teachings Mr. Craig, but after finding out this had nothing to do with the original EFT, I was saddened and disappointed.

But I guess that I can look at this "happening" as I can learn the original EFT from you, Mr. Craig, and learn what I can from the Summit Recordings. Every speaker on the Summit Panel, has their own stories to tell about their experiences from using EFT. So I should come out in being the "Best EFT Practitioner" that I can be!!!

Thank you!!

Dear Gary,

I vigorously commend and respect your taking the high-road in this world summit debacle. I felt the same uneasy twitch when I saw Mr. Ortner's marketing ploy.

There was every right to expect, given the original history and motives behind EFT, that the materials be posted freely and open to the world.

If the Ortners needed to cover their costs, no one would have objected to a reasonable fee upfront, but choosing instead the bait-and-switch, or so it seemed, was in bad taste.

Namaste to you and yours.

Thank you so much, Gary, for your recent comments.  My gut tells me that there was no malice intended and this week is a 'mistake in enthusiasm'.  Maybe there was a problem in the naming of the Summit, but I feel that if just a few people are introduced to EFT (tapping), then it was worth it, and the real message will have been heard.  Those who know EFT or those who are new to EFT and want to know more will ultimately be led to your website and newsletter.  Thank you for having such a huge heart!

I don't know Nick or his wife but I believe it was a mistake of enthusiasm.  I was not aware of your changes in the open handed policy but I read them tonight.  I have learned much from you and those you have trained;  I think Nick has done a fine job but hope in the future he will work in conjunction of your wishes to avoid any unpleasant issues.  The key is you do allow people to teach your healing technique as long as they state this is not yours.  That distinction is only reserved for those that get certification and teach it exactly as you have laid out.  I can work under those provisions.  Thank you and this wonderful community including all the bloggers whose energy can now be pointed in a totally positive direction.

"Bravo" Harmony is the essence of EFT, at some point in time we could meet weather  it be in this life or in the next  it doesn't matter. This is my commitment and inspiration that has comes from you to bring the three hemispheres of our existences together (body, mind and spirit) we are nothing we can't be all body or all mind or all spirit the three together in perfect harmony a oneness, as in the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost are one but at the same time they are three but with one purpose. Even in the Fathers  House there are Laws. EFT is perfect tool to teach this concept "Bravo".

I have been an EFT enthusiast since I discovered it (better late than never!) last year. I have had some profound successes just using it on family members and friends and have been spreading the word as best and as fast as I can. I have watched the YouTube videos and have read countless letters in the EFT archive. Lately, thanks to Nick and Jessica Ortner, I have been able to download from their website a number of audio files. When Nick announced the World Summit, I immediately enrolled, under no delusion that Gary was in any way involved. To me, it did not seem to matter, as many EFT practitioners are pretty much "doing their own thing" by adding their own perspectives, techniques and styles. Gary has, on a great number of occasions, in his introductions to the letters sent to him by practitioners and newbies alike, drawn our attention to their particular insights and slants, all in the noble pursuit of "doing it better".

I was thus rather surprised at Gary's attitude toward the World Summit, but I agree that righteous indignation may have its place here. However, there are a few points that I would respectfully like to raise: no-one is forced to listen to the interviews at the time that they are done, as Nick leaves a window for people who live in different timezones. I live in South Africa and I have been able to listen (and record, using the free Audacity software) every one that has  drawn my interest ... all for free.

My hope is that the whole issue will be resolved in, to use Gary's own words: "love and cooperation", because EFT is, after all, pursuing the goal of healing the world, not doing injury to it.

If you are still upset about Nick's initiative, Gary, try tapping on it. The Orners are, after all, doing their bit to spread EFT as far and as wide as you, yourself, and the rest of your devoted fans (including me) as is possible.

My love and appreciation to all who are spreading the knowledge of this wonderful, gentle and astonishingly effective tool.

Spread the happy tapping everywhere!

Keith Taylor.

Firstly I would say Gary that your contribution to the world is immense and invaluable, and ethically untainted, yet I see a danger in EFT coalescing into a dogma and when that happens it cannot grow. The very nature of DVD's in which the spontaneous moment is frozen in the past can contribute to this. They must sooner or later date. The very success of EFT becomes then a danger should simpler and more efficient developments take place, which would immeasurably benefit humanity in terms of cost and time and might even make the therapists role redundant, just as EFT is making traditional psychotherapy redundant. This is what the therapist community would tenaciously resist consciously or subconsciously and is what dogma serves. There are so many who cannot afford therapy and certainly not long term therapy yet I see instances of EFT therapy continuing for more than a year! This has been my path starting from the EFT base, While I find EFT tremendously effective in its 'official' form I do believe it is based on some major misconceptions which when cast aside allow for a simplicity that you would not believe, ( like EFT initially) and so easy and time saving and therapist free.

Just a technical point in all this - living in the UK meant I coudn't take part live in this Summit. But neither could I always find two hours each day to listen in within the 24hour window. But has nobody noticed that you can download the audio file without listening to it? That I have done each morning while I make my morning cuppa, it only takes a minute or to do download each hour,  so I have a set of files I can listen to at leisure, and indeed scan through which has already allowed me skip some speakers!

Definitely no need to pay any bucks at all! And I've already found the debt speaker a great help!

Hey Gary,

nicely put.  I was unaware that my credential EFT-ADV was banned...it was acquired from Ann Ross, a now-EFT master in 2002 when I helped her organise the first EFT workshops in South Africa. I continued the work using your DVDs (which you kindly said we could copy 100 times and which were not otherwise available in SA) but I never pretended to CERTIFY anyone. Only show them an INTRODUCTION TO EFT. I had a high success rate using my skills as an intuitive healer and therapist with EFT.

Now I have written a book on my experiences entitled YOU CAN BREAK-FREE FAST which will be published in June. It contains a thorough description of EFT as the main tool I use in my three-step method which transformed my own life from broke, broken-hearted and homeless 10 years to living my dream life today. At least two times EFT helped me release the trauma of the fire which destroyed my home and killed our dog.

I  loved the interview with Gwenn Bonnell on day 4 of the summit. Lots of great ideas and tips on using EFT for pain and psychological reversal, all in keeping with the philosophy of EFT. Is she a master or what? who cares?

The great thing about this summit is that all words written about EFT come alive and are more real and meaningful.

You should have participated. I would have enjoyed listening to your interview.

Hello Gary,

Thank-you so much for sharing again your thoughts and feelings on the matter of this World Summit.  I had no idea that this event was done without your particpation.  I did feel that funny feeling in my stomach when I saw the charge for recorded info.  I have gone back to their website link and I looked for any mention of you and or your website and did not see one link in any way shape or form.  No credit, no mention.  I was surprised.  So I am glad to read this futher clarification of your stand on this.  I want this type of integrity of purpose with EFT to continue as this is what is the foundation for my practise as a practitioner.  Thanks for all you put into EFT and your loving, caring, supportive being.  It's nice to have a solid base to expand and grow from.  There would not be all this growth and expansion without it.

It has always been clear to me that Gary started EFT, although even Freud used tapping in his time as many others. So while tapping is not owned by anyone the brandname EFT is. So using that brandname without consulting Gary is just out of the order and extremely rude. Cohesion is the glue of a safe society and quickly disappearing. Gary is right to want to ensure cohesion in his EFT movement. People forming little sects, as in most religions, are just very ignorant of the energetic effect of doing so. I not only consider the summit as a highjacking of the EFT movement, but also am aware that this has been going on for quite a while, considering the several e-mails i have been receiving for expensive EFT lectures by some of Gary closest allies??? Far beyond my budget. Even having to be certified now has taken out the former freedom of the EFT movement and reduced it to a way of making money, as most spiritual methods have become. I am so longing for a community of people, whose primary interest is in advancing this humanity, healing this planet, bringing about a new harmonious kind of healthy, conscious, aware living.

I was so pleased to read your comments today after feeling shocked and sad at what I read about the World Summit issue. Gary you have brought us practitioners and trainers a great gift to share with the world, passing on what you started. I consider EFT to be a very precious gift which is continually evolving as more exciting ways are being discovered and getting great results. I became excited when I first went to a free talk in Cornwall, five years ago, and  that excitement has continued. EFT has become my passion. It is great to teach people how they can do a lot to help themselves by tapping, and the potential for children to "nip problems in the bud" is fantastic.

I happened to meet a lady two days ago and she has just called me to say she wants to learn more about EFT. She said, "I don't feel you are trying to "sell" me anything, but I can feel the passion you have for EFT and now it is exciting me, and I want to learn it !" And so it spreads day by day, out into the world. I am hoping to go and visit my friends in Ghana W. Africa sometime to teach it there where I am sure it can be of great use.

I had no idea about the problem with Nick and am sorry it has caused you upset, but it seems it is turning out to have positive results, and got us all thinking. I signed up to the World Summit talks  and am finding them very useful, learning  something new from each one, so I am grateful to Nick Orkner and all the presenters, most of whom have mentioned "Gary Craig," and rightly so, as we all owe so much to you. One of  the main aims of EFT is about establishing World Peace one day, which hopefully we all want, but as EFTer's surely must remember to practice what we preach, and this issue may be a "wake up call" to us all, to remember that Peace starts within each one of us. We are human beings (as well as Angels, of course!!!) who can find ourselves occasionally caught up in disputes etc;  but we are privileged to have the perfect tool to resolve any problems in a gentle and forgiving way, and move on to help make a big difference. Aren't we fortunate?

Thank you so much Gary, you are remembered and appreciated by so many people around the world, and thank you Nick and all who help spread EFT.

However, I have been bombarded with "Take a look", "Hey, it's Free", "Maybe, your interested" etc from some rather big names and at the same time out there and only to be disappointed that another product or similar product is being sold. I buy one book only for it to tell me to buy another 3 other books to find the answer. Or for more information, please join my cruise. This has now happened to me twice and I almost went into a full coma due to additional stress.

Rosie O'Donnel reminded me of the story of the Student who was hit by a stick by a Buddhist Monk Daily until the student grabbed the stick and Stopped the Monk. The Monk then smiled. I guess the same applies here... I am ready and I am grabbing that "stick".

I have personally chosen to remove myself from any and all email lists. I will now focus on writing my own book and why you should buy my three other books afterwards.

Sadly, EFT is now in the "Professional" arena where it should never be. This will frighten most people to try it.

My humble opinion.

I will forever be grateful to Gary for spreading the word about EFT. I have healed so much with it.

I love freedom. One of the things that attracted me so strongly to EFT was that Gary encouraged us to explore and find other ways to apply this. We added our own inspriation, tools, and plays to the game. Gary was a big focus, someone who created a community where we could share the new toys we dreamed up, and get feedback and new thoughts. I loved it.

Now Gary is changing the direction. He says "I create the plays and provide tools and inspiration." That doesn't feel good to me. It is his choice, of course. I don't like working or playing in a arena where one person has all the decision making power and changes the rules and enforces them as he likes. With sadness, I will do as Gary suggested Nick do- use Fiind and Replace on my site and change EFT to Tapping.

Gary, thank you for all the wonder you taught me. I wish you well on your journey.

EFT has given professional counselors and therapists an incredibly powerful and gentle way to help clients recover from the devasting trauma that so many have experienced.  The painful catharsis of the last century has been replaced - hallelujia!  Our clients now have a self-empowering tool they can use on their own, whenever they need it.

Hi Gary,

I found EFT about a year and a half ago, downloaded your manual and got to work.  Unfortunately, I initially had no results and began to doubt that EFT would ever work for me.  Then I tried it on two physical issues immediately after they happened (I fell, smashing my knee cap; and I developed blisters in my mouth), and had what you term 2 "one minute miracles."  Of course this renewed my interest.  To get to my point on this- I read your newsletter daily, but I can't afford your DVD's, nor could I afford to go to a practitioner or to one of the sanctioned EFT workshops.  I know that your goal is to get EFT out there to everyone, but I also know many people who don't have computers or the  means to access your information, much less to pay someone to teach them.  I have been lucky enough to tune in to the "Summit" for free, and it has given me new ideas from which I've already had success.  I just ignore the ads.  EFT is your baby, and nobody can ever take that away from you, but wouldn't it be wonderful to find a way to spread it to the four corners of the earth?  The summit will probably get to more people than anyone can imagine, but even better would be a way to get to those who don't  have a computer or a way to find out about EFT.

By the way, a month after I hurt my knee, I developed a severe infection in my leg for which the doctor put me on very strong antibiotics.  After only taking two, I had a reaction and had to stop.  I began tapping on the infection and literally watched the swelling and redness disappear.  A month later, I have a small scar on my knee, but the infection never returned.  Thank you, Gary.  OH- I also discovered something that may help others- I'm one of those people who have trouble accessing my emotions about me, so I start out "faking" it, and it works- "Fake it 'til you make it!"

There have been a lot of nasty comment about the presenters, and how they are "just in it for the money" and words to that effect.  Wow.

But, as Gary said, he has done little advertising.  Maybe not personally, but it has been advertised.  EFT has grown because it has been advertised by people like these presenters.

A lot of dispersion has been cast on Pat and Carol - but how many of the 440,000 are here because they were introduced to EFT by Pat and Carol, and others like them.  And it is the way they do EFT - their skill - that has helped to make it more widespread.  I didn't find EFT directly from Gary... did you...?

I want to promote EFT - I'd love to see it grow - but seeing how quickly folks have turned on these people, I feel a little gun-shy.  What if I put it out there in a way not everyone agrees with?  If we have to get it just right - and meet with everyone's approval - we might as well close up shop now.

But maybe you can see that these folks made a bad choice - maybe you have better judgment.  Wasn't it George Carlin who said, "Have you ever noticed how, on the freeway, everyone going faster than you is a manicac, and everyone goind slower is a moron...?"

Throwing stones and glass houses, people...

I'm grateful to these presenters who have taken risks to make sure that EFT does reach critical mass.  And if they make some money, as I hope to, then more power to them.

Someone wrote:  Rule #1 - never take money for healing!  So who should make money?!?

And if we decide it's okay to make money, how do we decide how much money?  Should Carol price a workshop so it is affordable for me?  But what if that isn't affordable for my neighbor?

Sorry... I'll go tap now.  Hope these thoughts are useful.

Thank you for this wonderful tool, Gary - and for making it possible for others to spread it to people like me.  Pat and Carol (and the others, but they were the ones most slammed) have done a lot to help forward your dream, and I trust that you are grateful to them for that.

Hi Gary:

Thank you SO much for this work you do. I am in the process of learning/using it. I do have one question that bothers me though. The Reminder Phrase confuses me. I work a lot with Esther & Jerry Hick's, Abraham teachings and so I wonder if I say the reminder phrase while tapping, does that not re-inforce that I have whatever problem I'm saying? For example, if I say, "Even though I have pain in my knees...I love and approve of myself" doesn't that strengthen the pain in my knees because I am saying I have it? I hope you understand what I mean...just the basic Law of Attraction I suppose. What you say is what you get?

Thank you for your help,

I wonder what some of the presenters might be feeling now that so many of us have expressed agreement with you, regarding this commercializing of EFT.  Hopefully, The trend will Stop!

It felt a personal need to appologize to my students, and explain the situation as best I could, as to why many I look up to, were a part of this project.  Because it really isn't about the money.  IS IT?  That's what I have been preaching.  It really is Free.  So it is unthinkable that anyone would ever intentionally sabotage EFT for the sake of making some easy money on the Internet.  Yet a part of what I am feeling is, that's what may be happening.  So!

Am I willing to accept that the "Ends justify the Means"?

What am I compromising by saying "it's going to happen because that is the way the Internet world works."  It's wide open to exploit as one wishes.  A lot!

Thank you Gary for clarifying the "open hand" policy and providing the statements I will use in introducing people to EFT.  In my practice I offer a small free public meeting to introduce the basic recipe of EFT.  This gives participants a chance to sample the technique to determine if they find it useful. The statements you offered create an excellent clear foundation for any work they chose to pursue with me.

I appreciate you stepping up and speaking your truth. I did  a fair amount of tapping after the controversy of the Summit emerged. The emotions and conflict triggered old betrayal issues.  It was a blessing in disguise as it allowed me to revisit and clear lingering old misery, which I thought I had resolved years ago in Psychoanalysis.

Hi Gary,

I agree with Pat's comment above, wish you would change your mind and be on the summit.

As far as "Team Spirit", there isn't anyone presenting or backing the World Summit that hasn't been or isn't on your team. They all speak

about you in love & gratitude. There also isn't anyone on the list, who I have not learned something from over the years, except for Ms. Lynch

who I am not familiar with (which doesn't mean I wouldn't)! Most all of them have contributed to you, and all support the giving principal through their websites, newsletters, and lists; to not state that, is extremely mis-leading. To all intense & purpose the "Tapping Summit" is free to all, if you chose to have a hard copy, you were offered the opportunity to

order and pay a fee. Isn't it nice, Nick had the forsight to make this available, for all the people who didn't have the where for all, to make

copies themselves. "If you like what you hear............, you can order...." so you can listen at your leisure.

Isn't it nice, he got the experts on "viril marketing" on board and all

his helpers who believe in your "Dream" to have 44,000 people want to

take the opportunity to learn "EFT" and make your dream possible!

I was so excited that "Your Dream" , which many of us have made "Our Dream" coming to fruitation with this major project!

Wasn't your wish for "EFT" to become a household word? How does substituting "TAPPING" help the original goal?

For your followers (Me included) who you have taught and coached for almost 10 years, we believed you and believe in you! "Try it on Everything!" "Let go, let God" "Miracles Happen!" "It is not by us, it is though us!" "PR Reversal will stop us in our Tracks!"

It is like this is a major case of "PR Reversal"? Who or what is killing your dream?

You have been an excellent teacher and coach, thank you!

My website is not in complience to your new set of rules, along with

other areas, not because of disagreement, just have forgotten where

I used EFT-ADV or haven't had the time, to change over, what seems like 1000's of entries in writings over the past 10 years.

If as Anna stated above, your wish is for all of us to remove EFT and

Emotional Freedom Techniques from every thing we write and change to

Tapping or Energy Psychology, it would be helpful if you let us know as soon as possible. Thank you!

Blessings, we are all here to help,

Ok, so let's see if I have this straight..on the one hand you are making nice with Nick and those involved in the Summit, then in your latest version of the open hand policy, you basially accuse all EFT-CC and EFT-ADV's of being deceitful and misrepresenting themselves to people! Incredible.  Honestly, I dont know what to think anymore.  In one fell swoop, we are practicing deception and now have to throw out all printed material that you allowed previously.  Are you going to pay us for that?  There is a schism here, and it it one of your own creation. You could have easily allowed EFT-ADV's to take a "booster" type exam and this could of all been avoided. Instead, you discredit it, call us deceivers, and dismiss the whole thing, which by the way, filled a void when you had NOTHING in place.  I think you are a very creative person, coming up with EFT, and will always owe you a debt of gratitude for that work. These actions and attitudes, however, are not acceptable. How dare you insult all holders of CC and ADV while the majority were practicing in good faith, and helping YOU spread EFT.  Now it seems that since the large groundwork has been laid, you have no need for us anymore.  Let's see if this gets posted.

Those that felt a NEED to have initials after their name to add credibility in their business chose to do Pat's testing.

Gary has already said he should have implemented it earlier and gave a grace period for everyone to comply and take the EFT test If you know your stuff you will pass!

I took EFT-1 and I am certified and I did it beause the timing was right for me even tho I have been incorporating it into my massages for years.

I didn't do it earlier because I did not see any value in it since Gary was not behind it. Once he stared certifiying I was one  of the first to get it.

I appreciate Roger Callahan for his creation. I appreciate Gary for his modification. I appreciate Nick for his innovation.

Roger Callahan is the one who created this amazing tapping technique. He is the true founder. Gary studied under Mr. Callahan and modified his techinque of which we are grateful but let's not lose sight of the fact that Mr. Callahan is the true creator of the technique and deserves this recognition. It is in fact his baby not Gary's.

Gary is the modifier not the creator but we are grateful. I appreciate all who have worked to bring this to the masses.

Dear Gary~

If you still believe that we are on the ground floor of a healing high-rise, then PLEASE support the efforts of Nick and Jessica to make EFT a household word and participate in their World Summit!   EFT must continue evolving and Nick and Jessica are part of the next generation who will usher EFT into the future.

Their film has done so much to further the spread of EFT; I find it hard to believe the position you are taking, in light of your desire to see EFT spread internationally.  I believe you should endorse their efforts--as they have been HUGE supporters of EFT and have made it more accessible to so many people in such a short period of time.  There is no need to go into constriction and scarcity here--that is so contradictory to how you originally shared EFT with the world.

Blessings and Gratitude to both you and Nick (and ALL of the outstanding teachers who have promoted EFT in their work!),

To the poster who said EFT is not Gary's creation, you are wrong. In transforming a remarkable technique (TFT) that was also entirely too cumbersome to have ever, EVER caught on with the public in a large scale way into one that could, and then giving it away free, and then putting heart and soul and at least a small fortune into making that free product readily available in a context that radiates utter integrity, a completely new creation was born.

The phenomenon of EFT is just as much those things as it is the actual tapping protocol. In my mind, moreso. If I was still flipping through the pages of a book looking up a different tapping sequence for emotions that shift, change, and give way to one another in as little as one round of tapping, sometimes less - forget it. I'd never have caught on fire the way I did when I found EFT. And I'll bet I speak for the huge majority. That innovation was pure, absolute genius.

Which is not to say that Roger Callahan (and others) don't deserve deep thanks and gratitude. I always say, when telling someone about EFT, that EFT was based primarily on the work of Dr. Roger Callahan.

But to say EFT is just a permutation of TFT, nothing more, completely misses what happened in that transition.  It's like saying the automobile is just a rearranged version of the horse and buggy. The explosive increase in ease and elegance between TFT and EFT - I see that as the result of divine inspiration in response to a dream that, with due and genuine respect, I don't think Dr. Callahan ever dreamed.

Gary is the one, to respond to another poster, who innovated. To say Gary modified and Nick innovated - holy crow. Total, total miss. Gary is the real deal. Nick has a lot to learn.

With continuing gratitude for the opportunity to read and absorb and think and feel and tap...

Hi Besty

Thank you for your response.

I totally get and appreciate what Gary has done. My point is that he simplified what Mr. Callahan created. To look at your analogy from another perspective, as you know there is always more than one way to view anything :)

Mr. Callahan created the "automobile" with all of it's moving parts, upkeep and maintaince (have you ever looked under the hood of a car?) and Gary simplified it into the "horse and buggy"...so now, with minimal effort you can be on your way. It appeals to the masses in a fast food society.

Not that there is anything wrong with that. There isn't. I'll say it again...There is nothing wrong with that....there is nothing wrong with that...there is nothing wrong with that...

The fact remains that Mr. Callahan is the originator and creator of the Tapping Technique regardless of how "complicated or complex" his application was/is. Tapping is still his baby.

As for Nick, I was merely speaking of the 'idea' of the summit. Of course he has a lot to learn...we all do...

Hi Olly,

Yes, we do see it differently. There are numerous healing techniques already around that accomplish the kind of miraculous results that TFT does. I have friends who are very proficient with Reiki, for instance, and I hear many miracle stories from them. To me, TFT is in that ball park - another approach that can, and does, facilitate healing that is often miraculous compared to the current norm.

I'm not focused on the form (auto engine vs. buggy), I'm focused on the function. It's about what gets me from here to there, from constriction to healing and freedom, most efficiently. If I want to get from New York to California I want the car, not the horse and buggy. And if I want to help as many people, including myself, experience holding the miracle of healing in their own hands and using it for anything they choose, anywhere, anytime, and be able to easily put that same miracle into the hands of another - EFT works for that. TFT doesn't.

What was born, in my view, had to do with function. By simplifying the form and thereby amplifying the function, Gary made possible a complexity of application (complex in the way capillaries are compared to major blood vessels) that is making its way to every corner of the world. That function did not exist with TFT - that was brand new and staggeringly influential.

Yes, always more than one way to look at things!  Thanks, Olly, for your thoughts. I'm fine with disagreeing, just wanted to share a different perspective.

I am very new to EFT and from what I understand Gary used to allow and encourage the use of the term EFT by anyone and everyone.

Now I'm wondering, because EFT was allowed to be used in all sorts of formats for years and with the consent and encouragement from Gary, could it now be consider public domain like 'A Course In Miracles'?

I have no intention of persuing anything related to EFT.  It just seems to me that to change the rules in the middle of the game and not intergrate those who have helped to make EFT the so poplar is to bite the hand that feeds you.

This is indeed reminscent of 'A Course In Miracles' and it's struggle for freedom.

As I have said I too appreciate what Gary has done with Mr. Callahan's creation. It is very user friendly and for that, as I have stated, I am grateful.

In my view, EFT and TFT are equilvalent to a pocket dictionary and Unabridge dictionary respectively. One is a derivative of the other. In most case the pocket dictionary is fine and works beautifully but there is a reason for the more comprehensive version and eventually you will need it.

There are many instances when a general practitioner won't do and you need to see a Specialist.

Callahan = TFT

Craig = EFT

All Gary is saying to Nick is do not use EFT "brand" to promote an event he feels is not up to par with EFT standards. He has that right.Same as he has asked all seminars to conform.

The reason as I understand it is he recieved complaints of people merging other modalities and diluting true EFT and when referrals came off EMOFREE site for seminars or referral page people were not getting true EFT and abuse issues also were involved.

Gary expects us to use undiluted EFT with his clientle list and to be "capable" of doing it, so he implemented the Cerification Program.

I am sure he would have rather not added all this aggravaion to his workload but he did it to protect his baby...

I am a Massage Therapist of 20 plus years with Medical Background so I specialise in Pain. I have watched people take someone else's technique, add a few aspects to it and put their name on it and start teaching it for years. The key is "they changed the name"

This happens all the time wih modaliies  and Gary has never said not to do that.he suggested Nick call it "tapping summit" or any other name.

Bottom line:

Way I see it is EFT is a brand and that brand belongs to Gary Legally and it has NAME RECOGNITION just like Coke or Pepsi and that is what Gary has nurtured and is protecting.

To quote part of Gary's final comment: "I imagined a world where anger, greed and trauma would eventually be replaced by love and cooperation.  This is possible, of course, but only if we can neutralize our resentments, fears, etc. with a tool like EFT.

It is also necessary to have cooperation among multitudes (you).  Without a cohesive band of dedicated souls working TOGETHER, this dream would lapse into chaos."

Gary Craig and Nick Ortner have resolved this unfortunate situation.

The rest of us can support this resolution by choosing thoughts that bless and inspire them both and ourselves as well : )!

Let's all move onward : )! as Gary has suggested : )!

WE can ALL choose  to think thoughts of peace, compassion, forgiveness, understanding and cooperation. Doing this allows all of us to remain open to the inspirations that will manifest the common dream we all share. We are all here to master and promote Emotional Freedom Techniques. We all want the same thing.  To quote Gary again. "Our consistent thoughts become our reality."

Even though the last three days have been stressful and upsetting, we can choose to manifest peace and understanding by applying EFT on ourselves.

Even though this situation inspires some to express anger, frustration, judgments and blame, we can all choose forgiveness and thus remain calm and open to solutions that will bless all.

Even though this confusing situation has caused some to feel and express anger and condemnation at those whom we love and respect, we can choose to forgive these hasty remarks and choose to love and appreciate the best in all.

"Our consistent thoughts become our reality" : )!

tap tap tap : )!  Let's move on in joy and thanksgiving that Gary and Nick have resolved this upset : )!

Hello everyone

I thank Gary for all he has done - we met in 1999 and he gave me permission to use EFT (including the term EFT) in my trainings and work with clients and I haven't looked back.

I am surprised to see so much black/white and right/wrong here.  I know both Gary and Nick Ortner and it hurts my heart to see this constriction in the EFT community.  We are, after all, all human.  We all have weaknesses and strengths - all of us.

For so many to judge Nick so harshly because of anyone else's opinion - I think it would be very appropriate for many to just tap.............  And I shall tap now for thinking anyone else needs to tap !!!!!!

I'm really writing to tell everyone this.  If you miss out on the fine folks in the Summit because you have certain feelings about Gary or Nick, you are losing out.

Loretta Sparks, Sue Hass, Margaret Lynch, Rick Wilkes are just a few of the wholesome and passionate people who are in integrity and who have participanted in the summit.  I've devoted my life to EFT over the past ten years and I am still learning from these folks with deep appreciation and gratitude...  It fills my heart to listen and have even more ways to help my clients and workshop participants.

A lot of the audios are not just tapping - they are how to get to core issues - what might be within certain manifestations.  These folks are good.  And no one else has put together something that brings so many different perspectives to us.  I celebrate this offering as it is going to make me a better EFT practitioner.

And I got it all for FREE - just listen in within 24 hours - no charge.

I've been doing EFT for ten years, love traditional EFT the way Gary has always taught it, love that he told us all it was just the ground floor of the healing highrise all those years ago, and would love for that healing highrise to continue to the heavens.

with deep gratitude for the continued learning from both Gary and Nick,

Maggie

Olly and Betsy,  could I humbly mention that there was someone before even Roger Callahan.  His name somewhat escapes me but I think it was Dr. John Gray?.  Roger was influenced by this man.  Roger didn't acknowledge him in his book Tapping the Healer Within (as far as I can remember) but at a conference Dr. Gray was given a standing ovation by all who attended.  Roger was there too. Does this story ring any bells with anyone? Have i got his name right?  I'm searching in my library now for his book.

As for the comments on the Summit, I empathise with many comments on both sides.  Abundance is there for one and all.  Open the door and let it in.  Change happens quickly.  Be open to it too.  I am grateful to everyone here for these comments and to Gary for his work on EFT and to World Summit for giving me some more ideas.

Dear Mr Ortner,

Since we have never spoken I feel that it is presumptuous to address you as Nick. However, I desire you to see me as someone who wishes you all good. I think your production has real value : )! However, I do not resonate with the marketing techniques you chose to promote it with. This is a matter of personal taste. The truth is I almost did not sign up for the summit because of the manner in which it was promoted. However : )! I am hungry for knowledge and I overcame my dislike of your promotional style for this reason. This is not the first time. I bought Brad Yates products in the past, even though he used somewhat the same techniques you had. A very wise man once told me as it concerns my studies, "Keep what you resonate with and leave the rest". We lose out on a lot of knowledge if we are unable to practice this.

Most of the EFT masters and practitioners at your Energy Therapy Summit, whose presence inspired me to get past my distaste for how it was promoted, were familiar to me because I had discovered them on Gary's web site, newsletters, and in his DVD's. I owe Gary Craig so much I can not begin to measure my debt to him for his amazing effort and skill in bringing EFT to the public consciousness.

I believe you have a valid product and those who buy it will not be disappointed.  I do not understand why some have an objection to you selling the recordings. I have paid for teleclasses in the past and just to compare, two one hour teleclasses would have cost just about the same amount as you are charging for a download of the entire Summit. Anyway, if I recall correctly the down load is $97 and the hard copy with text's is $197.00. The down load is a deal as well as being environmentally friendly.  I trust you will profit from this effort.

You are correct that none of us know the full picture as to the upset that is now in the past between you and Gary. I believe that Gary has the right to ask us to abide by certain guidelines as it concerns the use of his trademark EFT (emotional freedom techniques).

I am still finding some things confusing even though I have read the new guidelines and had read the old guidelines. Gary has a wonderful way with complex information (product of his leaning heavily to the side of his left brain. I however, lean heavily to the side of my right brain. I am still trying to figure out what to do. : )! tap, tap, tap : )!

We are one family : )! Each of us has a unique understanding. I rejoice to learn from everyone : )! I wish you ongoing success and prosperity in promoting Energy Therapy. I like this name because there are many schools of thought and practices when it comes to energy therapy, from acupuncture, to TFT, TAP, BSFF,  FasterEFT etc etc : )! It is all good : )! I personally love EFT : )! I resonate with it completely, I love the protocols, but I also know for a certainty that there are people who have great success with other methods as well.

I sincerely want you to know that I respect what you are trying to do in your Energy Therapy Summit : )! I believe you are sincere in your desire to foster the growth of EFT.  I also sincerely see Gary's point when it comes to using the acronym EFT in your promotional material.

I believe you will find a way to honor Gary and yourself so that you both find yourselves in a win win : ). I understand your passion for EFT because I share it : )! I owe Gary Craig, Carol Look and Robert Smith and many other teachers everything for having brought me to my own unique understanding. I believe I have made something that is my own from what I have learned from all those whose work I have studied. We all stand on the understanding of others on an understanding of our own : )!

I bless our success and prosperity and envision all good for all of us : )! We are one family : )!

There is so much work to be done : )! Let's all work together : )!

Gary,

Thanks for being open enough to clarify your position regarding the Summit.

EFT is so close a cousin to 3rd level NeiGong from the Chinese tradition it is hard to tell them apart.

I doubt if you had access to that information since the Chinese do not allow someone to leard 3rd level until levels 1 and 2 have been completed successfully. And a Westerner would need to work much harder than a Chinese person would just to prove we really mean it. You have probably talked to Susan Smith about Nei Gong yourself.

EFT IS your trademark and that should be respected. I hope Nick Ortner will talk to you first when he decides to put out another program, whatever is might be.

I am getting a lot from listening to the various speakers on the Summit and am glad to have that opportunity.

It bothered me greatly that people, many who came to this discussion not knowing anything about Gary, were questioning his motives and integrity, when I felt in such understanding of and support for his handling of this situation, and he has such a long track record of immense generosity and integrity.

I was also in search of begin genuinely at peace with all this, and of a feeling of complete acceptance for Nick. I didn't wish him any ill (I love Try It On Everything), but I kept wanting "to be sure people understood that..." etc etc. I didn't feel trusting that things would be ok. So I kept working on it. And last night it finally all gave. I tapped the last pieces of what were sticking for me, and suddenly my heart was completely full of love for both Gary and Nick.

I still agree with Gary's choices, and am grateful that he is working to caretake the EFT name. I also am full of awareness of the enthusiasm, generosity and kindness I have felt in Nick's work. I am now feeling completely trusting that all this can and will, because of the intention of so many, lead to positive outcomes for both Gary and Nick, and for EFT and other tapping protocols. I feel energy toward that future radiating from my will.

Being committed to EFT and using it lots doesn't eliminate feeling conflicted, making mistakes, handling things imperfectly. I've felt/done all of that just in witnessing this situation (though I bet longer-term EFTers had a smoother road this week than I did.) But it does provide a beautifully elegant way to work with my thoughts, feelings and energy, which I will continue to do. Thanks to everyone for their sharing, and especially to those who have held the resonance of successful outcome throughout, helping me find my way to it. I am immensely grateful for EFT.

Hi Gary

I was wondering what you thought about what one of the speakers was teaching and that is "bundling baggage".  She said we can bundle all our blocks and limiting beliefs into one tapping statement, rather than having to identify each "aspect" e.g. "even though I have all these blocks and limiting beliefs I deeply and completely accept myself".  This seems to contradict your teaching that it is important to address each aspect individually.  I only ask so I can understand, so any clarification would be greatly appreciated.  Have you noticed release when (if) you've tried this method?

Blessings,

Karen

I have been doing EFT regularly since I discovered it two years ago and find it an invaluable tool.  I understand the need to maintain the integrity of a therapy - after all that's what it is - but I can't understand the fuss about the World Summit.  I'm sorry.

It was free to all, and you could listen without paying, but if you wanted to - and there's a choice here - you could sign up to receive the discs.  You had a choice of whether to pay for something or not.  This is exactly the same as Gary's EFT site - the majority of the material is free to access, but there are also DVDs which you can buy - ie pay for - in order to go deeper.

As an experienced therapist in other fields, I found the Summit a fascinating experience and it was interesting - most of the time.   I hope it happens again in the future!  It was joy to be able to listen freely to others talking about their experiences.  The choice was always mine - I could listen or switch it off.  There was no pressure to either listen or to buy.

I appreciate all the work that Gary has done to make Mr Callahan's TFT more accessible to a wider public and I think he has done an amazing job.  However, there should always be room for different perspectives - unfortunately, in any therapy, one size does not fit all.

We had a similar problem occur within the Bowen Technique structure and I find it very saddening that this can happen - it doesn't help the modality at all.

However, as already mentioned, I do understand the need to protect the integrity, but we also need to be clear that in doing so we will not exempt those from learning who are not able to pay, as those are the ones who will probably gain most from it.

I found the Summit very useful to listen to, and it enable me to gain a deeper insight into myself and the way I function as a person - a very positive result in my eyes.  Individual responsibility also plays a part here - use EFT and take responsibility for the results, whatever they may be.

I think the EFT House is large enough and strong enough to have many rooms within it - which one you enter should be purely a matter of personal choice.

Keep up the good work, the technique is amazing and sorely needed.

Blessings

Jessica

I saw a comment at the end of the last blog, Nick Ortner has registered and created the website www.eftinternational.com and it is a total hijack of EFT. He has in every way, tried to make a business entity of Gary Craig's Emotional Freedom Technique.

Regardless of the motive to "get the message out there" I would hope Gary will have a "cease & desist" drafted ASAP, before things get really out of hand. Nick, why don't you use your head and go create something original, instead of ripping off Gary.

I learned EFT back in 2001 and have used it ever since. Yes, I did a few workshops about it and learned a lot. (One with Steve Wells and David Lake and one with Gary Craig). The first one was in the begin years of when I learned EFT en the last one was in 2005. I used to love EFT for being so dogma free and I use the word EFT whenever I use the tapping technique I learned from the workshops and Emofree website. I was a bit shocked about these blog posts from Gary Craig. EFT isn't rocket science althought there are layers in it, and I think anyone should be glad to have the word spread.

Since then I discovered EmoTrance in 2002 and became a trainer in this. Silvia Hartmann, the creator of this who also wrote some excellent books on EFT leaves us trainers free to expand the world of EmoTrance. Make adjustments, extensions or whatever. I feel that is a more sensible way to approach this than the way Gary Craig is doing it now.

These are just my feelings.....

Don't forget to visit the Forums on this site for those still reading this..

The saying that keeps popping into my head on this matter is

"It's easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission"

Nick KNEW Gary would say No as Gary mentioned in the other Blog and its not the first time this happened,Intent with deception is not a very good trait to start a project with.

Dear Gary:

Ever since I've learned EFT I've been in awe of you.  For, to discover and develop EFT-  possibly  the greatest healing miracle in the history of mankind-  requires a special merit  (and ingenuity,  of course).

But to then share that miracle in your inimitably selfless way, and to not fall prey to the capitalistic instinct, requires real greatness.

I salute you for your greatness.

May you be blessed in many ways and continue to guide the ship in your very special way.

Sassy, why do you still engage in these comments about Nick. He was in COMPLETE compliance with Gary's Open Hand Policy in effect AT THAT TIME! He did NOTHING wrong.

I'm relieved to see you create more structure around Official EFT and its use. Many people are using very creative techniques that modify and seem to extend EFT.  I have learned and used several of these over the past few years, but I always fall back on what is now called Official EFT because I keep getting consistent excellent results with it, and many of the permutations I've learned have not given better results for my clients.

Changing the Open Hand Policy is difficult, and I know many folks do not really understand why this is necessary.  I get comments from clients who are confused about why other ways fo doing EFT exist. Now it will be easier to explain the variations to them. Putting variations under other names protects everyone, and prevents so much confusion in the future.

Francine Shapiro ran into similar problems early in the evolution of EMDR, and she clamped down very hard to protect the integrity of her method. Certification in EMDR is quite rigorous and lengthy to prevent some of the problems EFT has experienced.  I respect that you have chosen a middle ground and applaud the steps you are taking to protect the integrity of Official EFT.  Thanks Gary.

I am very disappointed and sad that all this has happened.  I think EFT or maybe I should just call it Tapping, is a wonderful tool to use and I think that Nick and his team did an awesome job getting the word out there.  Never has something so huge been done to promote EFT / Tapping.  As far as it just being a money spinner - I don't think so.  Hopefully they did make some money off it but if you think about it, it must have cost them a whole lot and not to mention the stress of getting it to all work - they had their fair share of challenges there because of the huge response.  There are others who are making a huge amount of money under the name of EFT - have you looked on Amazon to see how much some of the books cost - more than any other book in the section.  I bought one and was really disappointed with the way it was presented, not to mention the contents.

I think it is awesome that Gary made EFT so affordable to everyone and he even said to take it and run with it - is that not what Nick and his team have done?

Quite ironical that EFT is also short for Electronic Funds Transfer!!

As I said I am really saddened by this - there I was thinking that everyone using and promoting EFT was doing it because of their care and desire to help people.

You are correct Sue, that is what Nick did..Nick was in COMPLETE compliance with the Open Hand Policy at the time.  This is indeed sad, but more importantly, unnecessary. It didnt have to go like this.

Gary's open hand policy stating that one should put a disclaimer on the website saying that ' it is not endorsed by Gary or his website + that the methods used may differ from original EFT and that the original EFT can be found at gary's website, is perfectly sound and reasonable.

What is wrong is that he is asking everyone to remove the CC and ADV from their names. When this CC and ADV programs were started by Patricia then Gary was aware of them and he fully endorsed them.

Now he has suddenly changed the rules in the middle of the game.

One can take the new EFT -cert exams if one wishes to. But what about the money spent  in the initial EFT-CC and ADV exams. Will Patricia or Gary return that amount in exchange for giving  up of our CC's and ADV's?

Either the full amount should be returned for those tests (USD 75+75) or we should be given the option to upgrade to the EFT -Cert exam by paying half of the exam cost ( USD150).

Why should the graduates of EFT-CC and ADV pay the full amount for the new cert exam, when they have already paid for $75 each for the earlier ones??

Also, when any institution grants a certificate , it has no right to demand that the certificate should not be used after a certain period of time (when in the first place it gave the right to use it). At that time when we got the certificates we were told that we could use the CC and ADV after our names!!!

THIS WAS THE MAIL SENT AFTER THE EFT-CC EXAM!!!!

“Congratulations on having passed the EFT Certificate of Completion Examination!

You are now entitled to use the designation “EFT Certificate of Completion”‘, or EFT-CC, after your name in any context you wish. This privilege goes into effect immediately."

I have no problems in following Gary’s open hand policy. It is good. One should use the disclaimer that he gives in their websites . But he cannot ask anyone to take away CC and ADV's  that they have earned.

For e.g. a university offered a certain certificate course in year 2000 and the students are using that certificate , then the university changes the course syllabus in 2009. Does that mean that the certificates earned in 2000 by the people becomes INVALID?????

NO!!

The course is simply updated and it will continue to do so. Which means that if the university asks the certificate holders to abdicate their certificates then a group of students can SUE the university!!!

The EFT program will also keep changing and the EFT syllabus will also grow more in future. So the rules can be changed again by Gary anytime.

I must agree completely with Sal.  What a wonderful way to dissolve the animosity and tension that has been created by disallowing the use of the EFT-CC and EFT-ADV credentials.  How about it, Gary?  A credit for those of us who have earned those credentials in the past towards the now very steep price of gaining what you now call EFT Certification?  That's fair enough to me!
